I’ve learned to ‘not hang around or ask questions’ from Dan unless my brain is fully capable of comprehension at a deeper level. LOL! ( He throws a LOT of knowledge your way in a very short encounter!) There’s a reason his name is on a technical and one of the most important products used in archery! Thank you Dan, PJ, the CAM team and ASA for these videos!

PJ..... what a GREAT target to showcase. Dan's knowledge and confidence level is why he is on a streak of 8 wins in a row. He knows his bow and his shot strategy inside and out. I wish I would of got the chance to shoot with Dan when I was following ASA and IBO back in the 90's and early 2000. Dan is like a Dr. or a professor when it comes to bows and shooting them. It was great to see him and Levi back together in the Shootdown. Watching ASA on the Sportsman channel sure makes me miss those days on the range..... just trying to make podium.

Learned a lot in a short amount of time from Dan McCarthy in that video. Great that he is willing to share and thanks to CAM and PJ for the coverage and support of archery! 🎯

Wow, I thought that I was nuts!! That close I've always used the base of my pin and top of my bubble as kind of a cross-hair. It always works and I was too embarrassed to say anything. Thanks, PJ for bringing this up, and a big shout out to Dan - thank you!!

Always a great video with you two. Dan's knowledge is unreal. Thanks again and can't wait for the next one!

I love these videos! I always get a chuckle!!! I have a suggestion for future videos. After PJ takes his shot, Dan should take the stake and talk us through HIS shot process and then take a shot. Not to compare to PJ's shot, but to show us how a Pro executes that same shot after PJ does. I think this would be VERY interesting to see. I shoot all of the events in the South/East Wisconsin area and they do put 2 yard targets out for us. I shoot 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 in my basement to get solid numbers(I put masking tape on the floor in 1 yard increments and shoot at a length of electrical tape on my target face). I write my numbers on a piece of 1/4" masking tape and put that on my stabilizer. So, when they toss a 2 or 3 yard target out for us, I am MONEY. Without doing that pre-work, it is VERY difficult to shoot 2-6 yards guessing where to set your sight. This video was great!!!!

I've always practiced and made sure I had marks for the close shots because while they don't come up very often missing "can't miss" targets costs me points and winds me up and steep close shots are even worse than flats (you need to range it, cut it and allow for the back down the rack) we see tree stand fish shots or similar enough to make the effort to practice or regret it

Why does Dan always have his bow, but he never actually shoots the target in these videos. We want to see it done.

Normally, we show Dan shooting the target we discuss during his live round. If you go back through our episodes, you will see him shoot the target in every one. For this one, we missed him. He got moved to a different target at the start of his round and so he shot this target before our camera crew could get there.
