Pearls can be for men too..but women usually wear them most. The clips are to probably hold his braids in place, until the hair stays still or in place for a week or two... People with dred locs usually wear the plain silver ones...he probably didn't want to wear them in public...so he went with a pearl hair clip... The rapper "Offset" just got his hair retwisted..and he has a head full of them...

Probably to hold his hair down... People who get fresh twisted locs or braids, usually wear the silver hair clips for up to two weeks until the braids or locs stay in place...and he probably didn't want to wear the plain silver ones in public, and went with the pearl clips...
