Huh, so this dialogue is actually the same in both spawn and ascended versions... and it looks like in both versions he actually hates that you slept with Mizora, but desperately doesn't want to show it, as well as imply that sex with anyone other than MC is not a big deal, when it actually really is and he'd hate the actual threesome with Mizora as well. That's both pretty messed up and pretty sad that he still can't say that outright. EDIT: nevermind, with the new patch spawn!Astarion is so hurt by you sleeping with her he'll try to break it off unless you can succeed a dice roll. Guess A!Astarion doesn't care as much.
I think you can still interpret it as neither liking it, it's not like the two versions of him are completely different people all of a sudden. But SpawnStarion has learned to make his boundaries clear, AAstarion hasn't, just as how AAstarion in general hasn't gotten past his trauma yet. I think that's the real/major difference between the two endings for him, in one he's healing from his trauma in a healthy way, and in the other he isn't and continues avoiding to deal with his problems....just as he has been in the past 200 years or so. I think it shows that AAstarion secretly doesn't like it very much when he suddenly changes the subject and looks a bit saddened/angered/disgusted at the end after you start talking about how great it was. Telling you to tell him all the gory details later. He actually seems happier when you tell him that you didn't like it and regret it, because he can then relate to you while also getting to lecture you. Only to then admit that his advice actually doesn't work for sh*t, again showing that he probably doesn't enjoy sleeping with people that aren't the PC (perhaps he doesn't enjoy it with PC either, that's also open for interpretation I think). There's also the fact that neither versions of him seem to like to sleep with the drow twins and end up dissociating, despite how AAstarion seems far more willing to get into it at first. There's also his insecure reaction to the Halsin polyamory. Though these moments are different of course, that's polyamory. What you did with Mizora is cheating. But my point is, AAstarion likes to put up a show allot more, acting like he's such a baddie. However he's as broken inside as he was the day you met him. Meanwhile SpawnStarion has mostly stopped with the pretentious act and learned to be more open about his true feelings and set his boundaries. That's just my interpretation though. You could also interpret it as him being open to polyamory/not too bothered by you cheating on him. I think that's viable too.
Also are you sure that they actually included spawn Astarion's other reaction to Mizora romance in the game? I thought that was data mined but not actually included in the game.
@@shibernyan2009 oh, neither Astarion is actually into the whole polyamory thing either. If you get permission from Astarion and actually go ahead and sleep with Halsin, Halsin and Astarion later have a banter where Halsin invites him to join you two next time for a threesome, and Astarion declines. Well, at least he learned to stand up for himself there, if not with Mizora.
Interesting. We hear the same nervous, fake laughter as in the first act. And also classic attempts to show that he is free, strong, jealousy does not exist and in general “give me more details, it doesn’t matter that it hurts me, I will keep my face to the end” We have received yet another proof of how “soulless” Ascended Astarion is, yeah

Yep, besides more obsessive, few scary and straight forward controling actions with less vulnerable and I’ll say unsure behavior, he’s pretty much Astarion. It’s like before Cazador fight he’s a coin with these two versions of himself and after the finale of his storyline you just end up with one of these sides. This guy always was a grey character, you can just add some white or black but in the end he’s still grey. Despite acting like a bit bigger prick I pretty much want to punch a lot more than ever before, I can’t deny, there is some kind of love here. This more obsessive and controling, whitch I have bad personal experience with, but there is. I was always more on spawn side but I’m not in „he’s fully soulless” now. I mean vampires in DnD are evil by nature BUT it doesn’t mean they’re not capable to love. They are, it’s just not based on more gentle affection, it’s more obsessive and there is a lot of jelousy 🤷 Just give me more space, don’t make me kneel, don’t call me your pet, don’t act like my abusive ex and we’ll be fine buddy. Unless there will be some other bad addiction from this deal you made with a devil to get your new superpowers 🤷 Also I said it once, I’ll say it again - THIS. OUTFIT. IS. FANTASTIC.
The Emperor told my Tav he’d block it from their memories which would explain a lack of reaction there. Not that he won’t bring it up later if you betray him…
Can I ask a question? So does Ascendant Astarion really love Tav or not? I see a lot of comments that he doesn’t love, but why he wants to be with Tav an eternity then? He wants to be together in each other’s arms forever, what is it if not love? (Because for me it looks like Ascendant Astarion loves Tav more and more passionate than Spawn Astarion. IMHO) So could you explain me if I am wrong, please. I really need to know. Thank you ☺️
I truly believe he loves tav, many people just refuse to see beyond “good vs evil” and want to put everything in a strict category. The writers confirmed he is still the same person just handling his fear in a less healthy way. Many people just refuse to see him as a complex being with feelings which he very much has, seeing as ascension makes him alive again with his mortal drives and ambitions returned to him. At the end of the day it’s okay to think for yourself and don’t let the screeching naysayers tell you what to believe!
@@darkurgediaries Thanks for the answer. ☺️ I also see that he has more emotions, as if everything is boiling inside after the ascension and he is trying to deal with it in his own way. I was just wondering if there was any confirmation from the writers about his sincere feelings for Tav or not. From my perspective on life, I see that his feelings are more than very sincere for Tav. I cannot say that obsession, passion and strong attachment are not love, because this is just a philosophical question. And he expresses his love more clearly than the spawn. But what if I missed something and is there any confirmation in the game or from writers about the opposite?
@@3d_kitty unfortunately the writers seem unwilling to confirm his love, but they also aren’t denying it. I think they are intentionally keeping it ambiguous because they know anti-ascended people would riot if they said he loves tav 🥲

He actually does love Tav as spawn and as ascendant. Both have a genuine affection towards tav, but spawn is still figuring things out all while slowly but surely healing from everything, while ascendant is using all of his newly acquired power and status to obsessively provide for Tav. Both are still afraid, but one will be more reluctantly straightforward about it (spawn), while the other will choose direct aggression to deflect showing said fear (ascendant). And both will do whatever you wish, but ascendant will mostly please you as long as it aligns with his chaotic interests. Still doesn't make him necessarily EVIL or GOOD, but that's the beauty of either path. He remains gray in spite of whichever path. All comes down to whether you're okay with it or not (Ascended can be triggering for some which is what some haters will not understand) One thing that is certain tho....the man still can't plan for shit....dead giveaway that he's still himself LMAOOO Also....edit: I have to say it: If his soul is "lost" and he's "evil" why he swing his arms like a highschool girlie while calling you "my treasure" hm? LMAOOOO

No, he's clearly hurt by it when you ask more questions, but is playing a cool mask act to not show it. He's been a slave for 100s of years he's extreamly allergic to showing vulnerability. Basically "I'm not cheated on because I totally don't in the first place... Ha... Ha"
