The shoreline of Ascension is littered with many great fishing opportunities. The deeper water rock marks in particular where there is an ever present and ever obliging range of jacks to be caught on surface poppers.
I'm flying in on Jan 4th. I'll be working there. I'm bringing my fishing tackle, cliff gaff, poppers, jigs, spoons, swimbaits, etc... It's gonna be glorious! Lol! Can't wait!
Hi Phill, Great video. I have been to Ascention Island 4 times back in 1990 when i was in the Army and travelling back and forth to the Falklands several times. I lived with an elderly couple in Port Stanley for several months. Unfortunately we werent alllowed to go anywhere near the water incase we got injured. I had never fished in those days either so i didnt know any better. If only eh ? What a great surprise to see Graeme on the video. I am subscribed to his channel and watch him and Mike everyday. I am now subscribed to your channel too. I have only been sea fishing for 7 months and quite honestly its the best thing ive ever done in my life. I travelled extensively during my Army career but it doesnt even come close to what i do now. I dont have to travel far to find places i never knew existed and i also appreciate whats around me now. In those days i took things for granted and didnt take stock of all the amazing places and what they had to offer. Different story now, and i look forward to venturing out when im on days off to new places even if its only a couple of hours drive i can find great little beaches, rock marks or coves to explore here in Scotland, and i also love little villages where you can usually find great Bakers and good Fish suppers for afters Ha Ha. All the best for now. Steve in Fife.
