ASDA CAFE | RANT | I'm not Happy 

As former buyer and price checker the standards have gone downhill since the company has been sold, the same issue in lots of restaurants, cold food, undercooked etc, it's not completely the staff fault as there are so few of them now, the standards are not acceptable anymore, they need to get more staff and maybe replace a few, they need to go back to previous owner Walmart standards. Aldi undercut us on middle supermarket range big time, and they undercut us on some of the budget range no wonder they are 4th biggest supermarket in the UK now.

NO SAUCE you should have stomped down the sauce aisle and got a bottle take it into the cafe obs you don't pay for it.

It's no wonder the brothers that own Asda are billionaires. They don't give a monkeys about the customers.

It could've been a whole lot worse with pigeons, crows and seagulls squabbling over the dirty dishes scraps. Fortunately you were inside away from that environment. We never eat in Asda. We'd rather walk up to the other end of the shopping mall to an Italian cafe -food is really cheap but nice.Tables cleaned as soon as customers leave. Lorna

Hi Keith and nat.we live in nuneaton but love shopping at ventura,we seem to just miss you everytime you're there,giz a heads up next time you're going and we could meet up and say hi 👋 .I worked at asda for over 25years,and nats right standards have slipped the same as alot of places these days but it's due to lack of staff and the staff that are there are overworked🙄,would have gone to the snack van the foods lovely,beautiful jacket 🥔 x

Cant belive the state of the mess on the table, and no red or brown sauce, available,,,,,,Asda cafeteria staff could of fetched bottles of sauses for their customers to use,,, has reviews go along way,,,,,

Speaking as an exiled Tammie ,the only reason that I go to Asda in Tamworth is for my specs , brilliant for that. the rest is a cattle market. Keep it up Keith you're doing a grand job. P.S. did you work in catering?.

Ventura is our local shopping park. There's a shortage of a lot of things. In KFC ventura and others, they can't get straws, sauces, plastic or wooden cutlery, salt sachets, stirrers. Apparently Russia / Ukraine war is to blame. Lots of shortages affecting many areas to come.

I remember that Asda café being decent a long long time ago. Since Walmart took it over it has steadily declined, maybe the Issa brothers can improve it with time. 🤞

Sitting on the fence here. Maybe you should of complained to the staff about the food? At least then they would of been aware? As for the sauces - that is no excuse when they will have an aisle full of them!

Like any were else these days , minimum staff multi tasking.

If that was me I would have to the food back and tell them to clean the table

No wonder it only got 2.5 stars on TripAdvisor. The main complaint was customer service. Great review though mate .

Sorry but I feel that you were being unfair regarding the bacon and egg roll. there was nothing wrong with that egg..Your wife said that it was snotty. I could not see that at all. If u had wanted a harder egg yolk you could have requested that...When you panned around the cafe, I saw plenty of clean tables. Shame about no sauce tho.

Asda cafe food seems to of really gone down hill sine they stopped doing the jkt spud etc for ,£1 last time I was there I got a portion of chips which were rock hard and not very many for the price stick to coffee or fizzy drinks 😪😪😪

Asda cafe 🤢 go over loads to ventura that cafe like you say is quick and convenient if you're shopping certainly wouldn't visit the cafe....staff are lacking just being nice and just a can't be arsed attitude in there.

That's such a shame, it's a food shop! They could surely have done better. It seems to be the same nationwide, my Asda is just along the road and I'd use the cafe if it was nice. I've been once for an omelette and it was reheated in the micro, yuck. Was like rubber.

Went in there recently omg had sosage sandwich not toasted bread was dry nothing on it sosage was like rubber keep away agree with everything u said and also keep away from marrisons bad the one near me

Typical Asda all I’m going to say if that was me I’d be speaking to a manager be honest that egg looks like it’s missing broken bits of white I wouldn’t even drink out there cups the Asda where I live is always out of carrier bags there trolleys are always wonky

Asda widnes need to do the same kieth its shocking the shelfs are empty like you said the staff are or need a lesson in charm rumours have asda a closing a lot of big stores down and opening just essentials shops like the Tesco extra shops

I think all asda are same because they are same where I live they need to improve there customer service because manners costs nothing and for the untidiness it's the same in our asda I think all asda need to improve on there hygiene I know it's only a cafe but cleanliness is the most important thing in any food establishment but nice review from both of you thank you look forward to the next food review

mmm saw seej sangweech!.. :) To be honest if i was going out for a snack id probably just go to gregs and get an egg and ham salad roll or two steak bakes because they have upped their game with steak bakes and the other thing I would have from theire is their tuna crunch baguette all far superior to supermarket standards! HOWEVER .. what i can recommend from supermarkets is the ones that sell the rotisserie chickens the chinese thighs are really good.

I would eat mine at home least you know what you're eating 😃

Terrible no excuse for not having sauces or spoons! Dirty dishes left on a table is very bad reflection on the place, Shouldn't be stiring your drinks with a knife that's outrageous! But no food poisoning 😂 don't go back in a hurry x

The egg looked fine for me. I like a runny yolk. But I couldn't see what the white was like. Every Tuesday I get a McDonald's Sausage and Egg McMuffin on my way to the shops and it is always great. Comes with a hash brown and a drink all for £4.29. I always get a white coffee.

You should have complained keith, absolutely disgusting, it's a wonder they get any customers at all, same up this way, people that serve in some of the cafes are really miserable, if they can't smile or be polite, then what's the point, love to you both, keep up the good work keith and nat, Dean says hi. Keith and Nat you want to go tomorrisons cafe it's rank I was told they cook all the bacon sausage mushrooms beans well heat those up as soon as they go in the cafe when the store opens early morn and sll they do is micro the bacon and eggs beans mushrooms snd tomatoes hash browns when some one orders the break fast they are disgusting it mum be the same gir all the meal tescos cafe is rank too lovedran xxx

I can relate to bad teeth sadly , as i need 10 removing and am not even 40 yet , all down to my love of Coca Cola lol but it does taste so nice and during the pandemic Coke encouraged my bad behaviour by giving free bottles away every week lol Anyway we only live once and we all going to the same destination so best to enjoy life i say.
