Hello My friend, I've really enjoyed watching your bow build. There was so much here to enjoy watching. I so enjoyed watching your manual dexterity and how happy, comfortable and directed you looked as your beautiful Ash bow evolved and took shape. You used only basic hand tools and proved you don't have to have big band saws and chop saws to create what you have, thus enthusing so many people. I've never got into archery. My love is air rifles, and I've made some of my own stocks as you have bows, to replace, plastic, miserable, uneventful, boring, supplied stocks. I laminated my stocks, using Walnut and Ash and then shaped the stocks, though concious only to use hand tools, proving it can be done. The benefit of making your own things, is that you can make what you want, as you wish. I'm currently making a stock out of Wenge Wood. Wenge Wood is native to Congo and Equitorial New Giunea. Its main uses are high end musical instruments. Ideally, I'd have used Rosewood, as its very dark.However, that can't be sourced now. It's quite heavy, but my build will be unique to me. I've not worked on it for a bit, though I plan to continue soon. I wish you all the very best, my friend, with the skills you have and future builds. Take care, Ian.

at 51 i was a professional woodworker almost my whole working Life for decades now until recently. also into traditional archery. english too for what it's worth lol. anyways just wanted to say nice job fella i especially enjoyed the hunting segment.

Funny, today i saw some bow making videos, and what can tell is, we all have many similiarities in our work even we have no influence between us. I was making bows from my 13 years old (2000) and i learnt everything without any source of info how and from what wood. Just try, tr,y try, try... I made almost same type of bows as you, and trick with heatgun is perfect (i hope you dont have patent for it :-D ). I must comeback and make bows again, still have plenty of years dried ash wood from young trees (less than 30 years for Ash wood) and some unfinished projects. And sorry for my english

Awesome! You did a really nice job. 45lb draw is what my production recurve bow shoots. Beautiful wood. Would you recommend the heat gun treatment for something like a hand carved axe handle?

I enjoyed watching you build the bow but the music playing was very distracting and irritating to the point I had to turn the sound off. Nice looking bow though.

Inner third of limbs are too stiff. Good luck with this fun hobby.
