The thing I really likes about this battle was the way Tobias completely changed after Darkrai was defeated. He went into the fight expecting yet another sweep with Darkrai, and why shouldn’t he have? He had beaten every other trainer and gym leader that way, who tf was this Ash Ketchum kid and why should he be any different? Then when Darkrai fainted Tobias realized that there WAS something different with Ash Ketchum, that he wasn’t facing an average trainer, and that he was facing a world class trainer. Maybe if Ash didn’t fuck around and just used his Sinnoh team then he could have won

If he did not have sceptile tobias would have fucked him with darkrai alone....and the animators tweeted out years ago when animation was released - "We didn't want Ash to win the Sinnoh League, but he will surely win sometime"

@@jitendra6346 Infernape totally could have done what sceptile did. He was also a powerhouse but he had a type advantage
