What an honour it is to have my parents' wedding cake featured in your 10th Anniversary Anti-Spectacular! I apologise for the smell of the cake. In hindsight I feel I should have mentioned that in the letter. We had it floating around the kitchen for almost a week afterwards. Whilst I can catagorically state that we did NOT spread the Lurpak on the cake for eating, my Dad DID try a piece. He said that it didn't taste particularly bad but was a bit dry. As a result, he was rather disappointed to see you didn't try any. If you had have done, you would have been a braver man than I though as I chickened out and never tried any either.
"Lets make a calculator and put a tank of water on top of it!" "OK, sounds good. What shall we put in the water? a Fish, Shark, Pirate ship maybe?" "Horse."
+Caiuxa190 The first Ashens video I watched was the review of the fake iPhone 5. I noticed that during the bit where he showed the video quality from the phone he look like a mix between Simon Pegg and Phelan 'Phelous' Porteous. I came across the video itself via a site that showcases hilarious knockoff product.
For a moment I thought to myself "He should have kept it until it was as old as him and had it for a birthday video". Then I realised I wasn't as clever as I had thought...
Congrats on 10 years, Ashens! Happy to say I've been watching for the better part of that. I think I discovered you around 2008, when you reviewed the R-Zone. I had one of those horrible things when I was a kid, and seeing all the things I hated about it so snarkily and humorously presented was fantastic. To this day, your gaming and obscure tech reviews tend to be my favorites, but I enjoy everything you do on this channel. So, THANK YOU for all the entertainment, and best of luck in the next ten years!
Yes its a tradition in the us to save one slice in a freezer and eat it on your 1st anniversary. These people must have never got a freezers and don't know how long it should be from their wedding to there first anniversary.
Watching him say that the Brown Sofa will need replaced 7 years after this (and 3 years before the 20th anniversary special) is absolutely hilarious, thank you Stuart, no notes.
Oh come on! Does not our almighty Ashens deserve a new sofa? We should start a Kickstarter for getting him a sofa or something! (And yes, much svensk också). :)
This channel was found by me feeling nostalgic for old board games on my 40th birthday (about 3 weeks or so ago) and by luck I found Stuart and his friends playing Tetris and other old games. Then looking through his other videos of him ripping the p\%s out of pound shop tat for 10 years I have come to the conclusion that ashens is awesome and so is his channel. Here's to another decade and many more.
I've been on RU-vid since October 23rd 2006. I remember watching the original Pop Station and Neo Double Games when they first came out! Since then I have been a loyal Ashens fan ever since. Thanks for all the good times man. Love from California, USA!
10 years! I was only trying to work out how long I'd been watching the other week, must be around 8 years. I think I was looking for stuff to watch as a procrastination from uni work, and it was at a time where it didn't take me that long to catch up on every existing video. I never miss a video, here's to many more years Ashens! You're my favourite :)
Typical video in your style - extremely British, extremely hilarious, and intriguing to say at least! Thank you Ashens for all those years and...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! :) Keep it up, man!
Back in secondary school I would jailbreak and mod iPods and iPhones, so I saw the A88 review at silly o'clock in the morning and was hooked ever since. Always loved the very dry and very British improvised humour. As I got older the better it got (due to comprehension probably). Although I know you generally don't read these, I'm sure we all hope you continue to create your own special flavour of RU-vid content.
RU-vid has been screwing up since even before google bought them (approving ads for a music cd the play an unstoppable sample every time you mouse over the banner for one)
+Captainyolo trust me I've been watching for 10 years - I used to come home from primary school and watch him on my dads very bulky, very outdated Windows 95 computer (he didn't want to upgrade because he liked to play Diablo 2, Doom and Civ 2 lmao)
mrsuperwill1 Right?! One of the best games ever imo. It was so simple yet so fun to play! I always felt like a champion when I upgraded my throne hahaha.
Ashens: Produced fantastic quality videos for 10 years and reached 1 million subscribers. PewDiePie: 2 years and the biggest channel on RU-vid in terms of subscribers. Half of the Gaming channels: Overrated despite piss-poor quality. ... What has humanity come to...
Not having to crowd source the funds for the second movie is very impressive (that in itself is an amazing fact and something many bigger content producers cant even achieve)! Congrats on EVERYTHING man!!!!!!! Combined with the million plus subs proves all the hard work really was worth it!!!! You have yourself a bona-fide brand AND quality content to back it up....... congrats man!!!!! you deserve it!
Congratulations Mr. Ashens on a decade of quality content! It has been tremendous to be among your devotees. To many, many more tremendous years ahead!
Antinull Not fair. That's so calling dibs roughly 9 years 3 months too early. There's like an early cutoff period that you cant call dibs on prior to without voiding the dibs.
Ahahahaha, I had that calculator. Its from a book club thing that used to be called Pollux, where they sent you a box of two books and some items every month. Similar to how lootcrate works, only it was horse themed and for children. The horse and dog on the calculator were the mascots I believe.
Man, I feel old... I remember, I was searching the web for information on an NES clone called PolyStation, came across the miniPolyStation 3, and got a link to this channel. Can't beleive it was almost 10 years ago! Happy anniversary, Stuart!
My journey into Ashens began when you first uploaded your Gamestation review and I've been watching you hover absolute pieces of shite in front of a regularly out-of-focus tatty old brown sofa for the last 10 years? My god, that's a terrifying thought.
Wow dude, I remember back in 2007, I saw the POP station video, I laughed at that for years, then the PCP station, I literally cried laughing for days. Ashens, you are a truly funny British man, I pretty much grew up on your videos dude. I was like 11 when I first found the POP station video, looking for the PSP video tutorial, that one POP station video turned into a legend, now it's been 10 years, amazing! Happy 10th Anniversary Ashens! You are a true RU-vid Veteran!
+Necro Mesmerownz You'd be surprised as to the one or two that would bid thousands for a tattered old sofa because "It once belonged to Ashens". So pretty high, but how high exactly, we won't know.
I'd be fascinated if one of these days Ashens would take one of these horrid food stuffs that he gets and have it analyzed by a pathologist, just to see how close to death he would have been by eating it.
