Patreon? Why yes! www.patreon.com/ashens Halloween beckons! And it's full of weird metal bugs, leggy spiders, funny skulls and skeleton arms. Oh, and gonks of course. All the gonks. Great. #Halloween #Poundland #ashens
I walked past my sister the other week watching one of his videos and she said no way your still watching him... obviously his content is just the best
Well, except a lot of dropped content. It's now basically just a "look at the crap I found at the pound shop". Still fun, but not the same. I'd actually like to see him bring back the MRE thing he did a few times.
I almost choked on my water when stuart said "let's get the gonks out the way" gonks had been gone from my mind for some blissful months and now apparently the mere utterance of gonk makes me laugh my stomach out.
I had a black cat name Drusilla (the one from my profile pictures) who passed away this spring. But when she was young we came across that exact tinsel cat at the Dollar Tree. We had just watched the Family Guy episode with Bitch Stewie the Stewie clone. So we called the tinsel cat Bitch Dru. Drusilla did not like Bitch Dru. We recently found Bitch Dru in storage and it made us smile. Happy to see her cousins are still finding homes as well.
How spooky. It was like a premonition from behind the grave. Without that grave part, or spookyness… or being a premonition. Otherwise though, exactly like that.
@@kjw21411 is lo a silent laugh?.. where you make the facial gesture but with no vocal.. a silent 'l'... A bit like a social-media selfie of 'hey wow you just caught me having a spontaneous great time!!!'' But their eyes don't tell lies...
Honestly, the tinsel black cat just brought back happy memories of Halloween from my childhood. My grandpa had one and would put it out on the mailbox every year. Nothing anyone but me cares about, I know, but it brought me a little bit of happiness
I actually really liked the Gem Bugs. Feels like they need to be in some low budget movie about Egypt. They're cursed items in some tomb that unlucky bandits pick to loot.
When I was a kid in the 90's we had those jelly bugs here in the US but they were called slimey slurpees. They were shaped like bugs spiders snakes and frogs. They basically tasted like artificial chemically fruit. As a kid I thought they were great. I would probably find them disgusting now. We also had giant gummy spiders. They were pretty good.
He's definitely reviewed them! I'm not sure the year though Edit: To be fair, he's been at it quite a while! Plus, with all the goings on of the world, heck my whole days are blurring together!
I'm homeless and after a rough day out here, ashens video usually gives me a good laugh. Also the holiday specials are some of my favorites. He always seems to pick out the most charming and funny little items out of poundland. I go to the dollar stores here in the U.S. and see similar stuff.
I had to live outside when I was in college. (My scholarship wasn't enough to cover a room, and my jobs had to pay for tuition that my scholarship didn't quite cover all the way.) The worst part about being homeless was all the stereotypes that people believe about us just because we've been stuck without a place to stay for a while. And it's all made worse by the fact that most people aren't interested in the truth about who we really are. Every time I see something on a RU-vid channel that promotes one of those stereotypes, I unsubscribe immediately. I can't stand to hear the stereotypes. It makes me feel like I'm imploding into a sea of some sort of acid that rots away my entire body from the inside out.
Nice that these videos gather us all here, regardless of our situation, where we can laugh. Fight on, stay safe, and godspeed to ya mate. All the best to you
I'm thinking those bug gummies are some sort of universal experience. We all thought they disappeared because our parents stopped buying them but no... They were with us all along. Like that footprints in the sand thing.
Just as an FYI those "dog toys" from poundland last about an hour and a half with my collie. Christ she went through a "Kong" toy as if it was butter! I love my pup!
Perhaps the most valuable part of this video to me is that it taught me the word “lenticular,” or “when a picture changes when you look at it from different angles.” Lovely!
I love the tinsel cat, and would also keep him forever. My favourite thing like this is a tinsel moon with one eye and a santa hat. I have brought out my cyclops moon every year for over a decade now.
Of all the things I never thought I'd see mentioned anywhere, the one-eyed tinsel half moon with a santa hat ranks pretty high. I get mine out for Christmas. :D
7:20 Although it seems like a horrific waste of packaging, it's important to remember you can re-use the 'mould' to make interesting ice cubes, perhaps for a halloween party :)
B&M, according to their website, are apparently doing quite a few GONK related things for Christmas and Halloween.. including the Christmas Gonk Snowglobe. The description, of course, reads: "No festive home is complete without a gonk snowglobe!". Bloody marvelous.
I want that cat more than I've ever wanted anything in my life... Just the thought of someone driving by my house, glancing over, and seeing that in the window, makes me laugh uncontrollably.
I have the tinsel cat for a few years now, when my landlord was doing the Halloween hunt for kids (each shop in town would participate in giving small candy to little toddlers for ToTing) there was these little plastic pumpkin baskets filled with candy (smaller than your hand type) she told me to take one and I use it on my little tinsel cat as well as a red ribbon around the neck. Love it.
Something about the velour pumpkin made me burst out into a fit of laughter. I'm not sure if my sense of humor is broken or the phrase "velour pumpkin" is genuinely that funny.
The skull reminds me of Medievil on the PS1., or maybe a bit of Nightmare before Christmas. There's a Christmas gonk on my Sealey advent calendar, I don't think it was added to the image by anyone but just appeared after printing.
I was stuck in hospital all day yesterday, and had to get transfused again (Lot of health battles, but this weird, crazy hedgehog lady is winning! Plus hey, subsisting on the blood of the living is kinda seasonal! 😜) and was feeling rough and really down tonight. Then this popped up just now in my YT feed and legit made me squee so loudly, my hedgehog gave me annoyed side-eye. We watched and as always, LOVED it! Thanks so much for all your great content. You’ve brightened my day and helped me keep smiling more than once, so figured I should let you know. Keep at it! Quillemina the weird, adorable little hedgehog and I think you rock! 🤘🏻🎃😁🦔
When that skeleton hand came out I literally burst out laughing... We play that game in the warehouse at work and the first thing I thought is "damn that skeleton got me".
We've had one of those tinsel black cats for years now! When our black cat was younger she was actually afraid of it 😂 (My younger sister loved to chase her around the house holding the tinsel cat)
@@-throat- The funny thing is RU-vid auto deleted my reply to the scammer, but kept their comment up, even after I reported it. lol But omg that old reference was good XD
That jump scare is giving me nightmares now, so thanks for that. What an absolutely terrifying lot of Halloween goodies. The tinsel cat looks so realistic and horrifying the trick or treators will most definitely be scared right away, lol.
The dog toy monster looks kinda like an amalgamation of Mike Wazowski and Sulley from Monsters, Inc., he even has the same number of eyes as both of them combined.
Fun fact Silly String was originally invented to be a spray on casting material for broken limbs but it's inventors had way too much fun in the lab that it became the legend that is Silly String 👍
My fave one of those face changing old school photos is a ww1 soldier that looks like one of me mates and turns into a freaked out skeleton with dread locks
