GRAMMY, CMA and ACM award winner Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in biker bars - and it shows. The Grand Ole Opry member’s 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed The New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste, The Washington Post and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. The album earned McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. Her GRAMMY-winning duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1 and earned McBryde and Pearce the ACM and CMA award for Musical Event of the Year. McBryde was also honored with the 2022 CMA International Artist Achievement Award for the most significant creative growth, development and promotion of the country music industry outside of the United States. Her collaborative project Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville featuring Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack, Aaron Raitiere and Benjy Davis earned McBryde her third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making her a six-time GRAMMY nominee. The project earned McBryde her second consecutive nomination for CMA Album of the Year, along with Music Video of the Year for “Light On In The Kitchen” from her latest critically acclaimed album, The Devil I Know.

I get misty every time I hear this song, I have an 11 year old daughter the hardest part of being her dad is dealing with the "me" in her. When people don't see her value, when she doesn't see her value, on the bad days when my words fail her I play this song. She starts to sing it and by the end she gets the fight back inside of her (Then I play Pray for you by J&TLR and she smiles). my Grandma and Grandpa showed me how to be a good person I loved spending time with them i learned so much from them I'm 36 and i can tell you they still influence me. always having a knife Grandpa zippo lighter Grandpa cooking Grandma and Grandpa Grandma took me to see star wars and star trek playing cards Grandma all the games at Bush stadium i learned how to be a good fan and person you don't leave early and never boo and whatever you always do your best win or lose so you did your best

"where they said I've never be is exactly where I am" I've been dissed and forgotten my entire life and I am well on my way. This song gives me life and helped me regain confidence. 2019 was the shittiest year of my life, got fired from my high paying job. With a lot of money in the bank and time on my hands, turned to alcohol and drugs. I am a stand-up comic on the side and run my own promotion company. I lost my three shows and stopped performing. Got back with my ex gf which was a toxic relationship and was in a rut for 7 months. This song helped me get a better job, break up with my ex and I am back to writing jokes. I still struggle with cocaine from time to time but I know once I get back on stage my purpose will be set again. She doesn't know how much this song saved me. I would like to thank her from the bottom of my heart.

As I sit here in my new apartment after living in a homeless shelter since December, I play this song and I'm reminded of the people in my family that shunned me..and they told me I'd go nowhere in life. I cried so hard the first time I heard this song. If you ever tried to make it as an artist or a writer, this song fits perfectly. I remember pulling over in a grocery store parking lot and listening to this song 3 or 4 times in a row. Tears running down my cheeks with a smile on my face. Ashley when the song you made about a old denim jacket it brought smiles and tears I have a old denim jacket with a heavy liner it was given tome by the man that I could love no other more that was in 1969. I just turned 69 and when I have days like we have all been going through I pit that tattered yarn sewn together jacket withlings written and just barley held together I didn't have my love but that jacket will come with me. When I just might meet him when I walk over that Golden Bridge. Thank you for the memories and for just being who you are Real loving Friend 💝

I don't listen to or follow country music. Haven't ever really gotten into it, I like my music a bit more heavy. That being said, this was awesome. Artistic, creative, and didn't feel like I was listening to cheap lyrics, I was listening to her journey. I still have the chills. Amazing song, amazing performance. You deserve all your success! The tickets for Ashleys gig in Manchester were sold out so quickly,i was absolutely gutted i could not get a one....I put my boots on,walked to the venue this evening and managed to get a ticket outside. I went to the George strait concert in August 2019 and Ashley Opened up for him. I was thinking hurry up and get to George I didn’t pay to see her . When she started singing man !! My heart 💕💕 I was sad when she sang her last song but I will definitely see her again!
