I just saw an interview they did when Passport to Paris came out, they were thirteen-ish. They discussed that it was their first on screen kiss, but they both said it was not their first actual kiss. I mean at the end of the day, they didn’t choose to be famous at all. Their parents chose to make them child actors, but they became child actors of one of the biggest shows, propelling them into the wealth they have today.

I spent years figuring it out in every movie they did lol. Here Ashley has her hair pulled tighter and is sitting closest to Ellen, therefore Mary Kate has the looser hairstyle and is farther from Ellen. Yw.
Also, Ashley's lips (at least her bottom lip) is fuller. When Mary-Kate smiles her top lip is thin. As they got older on Full House (the last 3 seasons) it's easier to tell them apart.
When Celebrities refuse to give interviews, magazines and writers will talk about how "rude" and unapproachable they are. This is why celebrities kind of have to do these pointless things even though most of them would rather just live quiet lives.
It's weird because In some photographs they have a 'haunted' appearance and look way older than their age but they both look nice here and seem like normal people, I was always jealous of their hair as a teenager
KaydeyRai - it's because they wear older makeup and dress older but they, especially Ashely, still have youthful faces. People only like to show their bad photos.
Love their style! They don't follow trends and don't show off their bodies to appear sexy. Mary-Kate has a more eccentric style; Ashley has a more polished, classic look.
I think you already said the key difference - photos. If you mostly see someone in still form, you're missing the essence within their motions. Once I just saw this video, all of their mannerisms showed up and it was kinda like when I was a kid watching all their movies again
It seems like maybe they've had some work done on their faces, they have a similar look as older female celebrities such as Meg Ryan whose face really changed now that she's older. Look up "Celebrities Before and After Plastic Surgery Disasters" and you'll see more extreme versions of it, but their faces have that look.

For those of you saying that they're "boring" and "lifeless" .. It's called elegant and mature, something that "stars" today don't have. Just because they're not on stage wearing barely anything, licking hammers or swearing doesn't mean they're boring. I'ts nice to see the girls back in an interview!
Mary-Kate and Ashley are the only people on earth I miss seeing on TV. Literally if anyone else went private and off the grid, I wouldn't really notice.
"I admire people who know they cant sing" so true Ellen and thats why I also admire MK and Ashley. Iam so glad they realise they are not good singers. So many actors and other celebrities try to sing nowdays even if it sounds horrible and people around them have to pretend its good even if its not. These two have my respect and I like their appearance.

Please, tell me how that automatically makes you a singer." It's always bothered me, ever since I was little and just keeps getting worse. And, yes I still watch Disney Channel, get over it. I know they don’t want to act anymore, but I miss them. I used to watch them all the time as a kid. I remember renting their VHS tapes at the library all the time 😭
Sometimes I wish they would do more interviews, but I like their mysteriousness and devotion to their fashion line and privacy. They've paid their Hollywood dues. I grew up watching them and will always root for them.
Plot twist. . . . during this interview, Mary Kate was actually played by ashley, and ashley was played by Mary Kate. Once Ellen she convinced them they were acting, it was all smooth.
At least they're not one of those child stars that have gone downhill and wasted their money on cocaine like Lindsay Lohan or McCauley Culkin they've done well for themselves
it so easy to tell them apart. Mary-Kate's voice is more smoothe and she seems more laid back and Ashley's is like more energetic and her face is a little be more Fuller (did you see what i did there😉)

You have to believe me. Since I was 8 I've been mixing them up. I'm just realising this now. I'm just realising that my favourite one is actually Ashley. My childhood was a complete lie.
It's so easy to tell them apart. Marykate seems more serious and mellow, while Ashley seems to be friendlier and more upbeat. I remember hearing how Marykate was often difficult to work with on Fullhouse. :P
All you people commenting rude things are just dumb. These girls are now 30 years old, do you think people look the same during their teens as they do when they're 30? Chantel Smith - then you're just plain DELUSIONAL. Ashley especially looks no where near even 40, heck there's photos of her after the Golden Globes just a couple of weeks ago and she looked 20 years old. Just because they dress older and wear darker makeup doesn't change how they naturally look, I see no wrinkles.
I love when they were on full house and now to remember about how cute they were I watch the full house episodes again but they don't have it on TV anymore and the are so pretty
Well as they got older, they started getting anorexic. I think Ashley was the one that went full-out anorexia and eating disorder. So they started to look sick and pale. They don't look as cute as they did back in the Full House, Passport to Paris days. But everyone has to grow up, just wish they made better choices. They're still beautiful none the less but started having major health problems.

Idk if I’ve just been watching way too much Shane Dawson but he’s spoken a lot about pedophilia within Hollywood and the acting industry. Both the Olsen Twins have been acting since they way babies, I can’t help but wonder if anything has happened to them. I honestly hope not but it would explain why they both seem to dislike acting so much now ...
And I think is because (apart from the other one) they loose their infancy. They were happy at the Full House because they were kids. But seriously, being the richest kids at 10 should be horrible.
