Kano's eyes have a 100 layers to them expressing regret sadness confusion and anger. The best actors can express deep emotions without words. He's going to go far.
Him and kano had a massive role in shaping the story because they wanted it to feel real and like the first two original seasons. They’re more than just actors in the show
This season touched on Community, addiction, parenting, loyalty, the issues with the home office, and the fact that both Sully and Dushane needed each other like brothers who fall out but still brothers
Coming from a rough area, I felt connected to this show as a teenager, and even used it at a study case for representations of race and class on screen at uni. Sad to see it come to an end, but what a show! Thank you
Im from NYC and this series set in the UK could have been a literal documentary of life in Flatbush Brooklyn during the 70s and 80s where there was always a Dushane or a Sully with Summer house and the ZT s
Same I used to b in the game, what I really liked about Top Boy was it never glamorised the drug life. You saw the real stress n pain that comes with that game!
Imagine how perfect this final season would have been if they had given the show four more episode's, used the irish more, given everybody endings, written jaq better
I liked the new season for the entertainment factor but honestly, the story wasn't there. Dushanes heart problem didn't exist in the final few moments of his life, the undercover officers didn't appear again and characters just went missing without any arc. I'm happy but kinda dissapointed because I loved season 1 and 2
Dushane’s death was so sad man. He was truly between a rock and a hard spot and desperately trying to escape. Not saying he was a good guy by any means but just like Sully, circumstances made them change.
Honestly i dont care what you all say that was the perfect ending seeing Summerhouse finally go downhill and watching Dushane break and fall apart the way he did was sad but perfect of course we've never seen Dushane break and lose his mind like that hes normally the smart one and the more composed one but he lost his money which made him loose his power which caused him to loose his mind and in the end he panicked way too much and just didnt think straight couldn't even trust his own brother to help him so he had to rob him and done himself over and Sully just got what he had coming to him same with Dushane but instead of Sullys being sad and tragic like Dushanes Sullys was more violent and a karma type moment perfect ending
Finally someone who gets it!!! It wasn’t a rushed season it was a very realistic season for what happens in real life. Very authentic and heart wrenching
That’s what I love about top boy, it’s authenticity. Brutal scenarios that people will be involved with. Jamie’s death is a perfect example. There is shock, sadness and anger in that life and unfortunately it does happen in real life. Really enjoyed top boy as a whole, summerhouse burning and rioting was also very akin to how Dushane and sully ended, burning, broken and the end.
@@ghettablkgffbexactly with the use of guns and shooting since when does gun and shooting become soo regular in Uk. Especially when handguns are prohibited in the Uk. This ain’t America! It became too Americanised
Ashley and Kano will always be the goat for being in this show. It was great to hear his insights with the scenes as well. And he’s 100% right about shows having too many seasons losing what made people watch to begin with and pushing a cause that can feel forced. But they did it well here. You could feel the W of them saving Kieron from immigration. Also Jamie and Jaq were great additions loved them both.
i agree with him on the riot scenes. Its just not possible to have every actor and extra on the same level where they all look like they were genuinely effected by what led them to riot in the first place
I love this show so much I wish there was gonna be more to it. I’ve waited impatiently for this last season lol it’s so good man. Do you ever feel like you can’t rewatch something because it was SOOOO good. That’s how I feel about this. It’s weird but I feel like I’ve gotten everything I needed from this show.
3:17 It’s kinda mad hearing Ashley say that cause it shows the theory I had was correct of the actors having issues with the script like Kano and Hope Ikpoku, Aaron’s actor, had. Mad to hear even Ashley had an issue with the script but makes sense when you see how it turned out.
A massive respect to everyone on that shop, actor's, writers, & directors, it was top draw from start to finish. Ashley seems like a cool guy, not sure why Kano doesn't do more acting, he took it to another level in the last 3 seasons. Right to end it on a high, before people got bored of it.
I legit Found out about this Show in July of this year. The fact I had to wait 2 months for the last season to come out was excruciating. Imagine Waiting Years 😂😂😂😂 Damnnmnnn
One of the best things Ive ever watched. With 2 main characters gone i cant see how it could continue. Thank you for making such a fantastic series...but deep down i wish there was more and more and more!
Well said. He is amazing all round, from touching the mic to acting.💯.He was TOP BOY! ( Props to Jaq too) and the whole cast, but for me Kano was THE outstanding character and actor👊
Dushane was actually one of my favourite characters. Cool, calculated and logical. He’s still top boy in my eyes. His death genuinely made me cry- there’s no top boy without summerhouse Sully and Dushane
@@MMR20 I watched it and yeah they were the best in that show, but if you compare how they are in the new show compared to Jamie it's not a competition on who Top Boy should be.
The way my man bopped off after killing Sully made me feel like it was his cousin (the one that helped Modie escape prison in S2). The killer just looked so carefree and casual.
Sully killing the feds in Spain felt like it was going to go to another level this season however it didn’t quite get there. Last season was so good. Can’t help feel underwhelmed
It was actually one of, if not the only show ive ever watched where the ending is actually decent. It wasn't unrealistic or forced like other tv shows. Can't think of anything i would have done different. Great show
Yh the Hollywood ending probably would of gone like this Obviously sully killed Dushanbe Then Stefan kills sully an and takes the bags of gear of him an becomes the next top boy Leaving it open for a fourth season that’s my opinion tho I thought it would be that way but glad it weren’t
my thoughts exactly. killed johnny off way too fast and the whole plot seemed more focused on the issues in the summerhouse estate than dushane & sully.
I think they did both have to die, the amount of enemies that Sully espcially made. It's realistic that they got caught up eventually. Should have been at least 2 more episodes though
The rawness of top boy faded towards the end but what the heck is my favourite still. UK big up love that. Bless you all thanks for the little joy enjoyed it defo. Shame its done
He’s so right about the riot, all the extras looked like GTA npc’s, it’s usually the case in most scenes with a lot of extras, feels not genuine at all, some of them kinda even look at the cameras and stuff. Best to keep it with professional actors.
I agree with him about shows generally going on too long and becoming stale, but I think they could have done so much more with Top Boy before getting anywhere near the point of being stale. 5 seasons in a decade? Why? That being said, the final season did give off a vibe that they just wanted to be done with it though. I’ll definitely be looking out to see what work Kano is doing, brilliant stuff from him 👏🏼
Definitely could’ve gotten to atleast 7 seasons before being stale. Also probably could’ve made more episodes per season, a lot of story line was rushed or missed out. Like the smack heads that were under cover feds, where were they? Definitely need a spin off series 👏
Dushane Dying Didn’t Feel Right To Me, He Was Really On Some Season 6 Franklin Type Shii But He Didn’t Make It And It Was Sad To Hear Him And Sully Have Their Last Conversation
The final season felt dragged and rushed, sad as I really enjoyed the other seasons. Just a shame how this is what we're gonna remember Top Boy for. It is what it is I guess.
What’s the weirdest thing to me about this show is that they got Barry Keoghan in to do like 3 scenes as a small actor and he was delighted to do it even though he’s an Oscar nominated actor on more than one occasion I think and he’s good friends with the Weeknd 😂
@@gottacheckyourself 100% although he’s the Joker in the next Batman movie so he’ll be an A Lister very soon. If you haven’t seen any of his movies I’d recommend the Banshees of Inisherin and the Killing of a Sacred Deer. I think he was Oscar nominated for both of those
