She's very comfortable in front of the camera. A great first interview! Can't wait to see her settle in on the court! She's going to be a very strong player. Very mature for her age already!
Ashlynn will be a clutch player for our team. Much like Caroline, her freshman year, she's ready to score at any point in the game. The only downside is that she doesn't have the height of Paige, Azzi, or Caroline.
I've been calling this for awhile - she will have a way more outsized impact than people think... Think 2nd person off the bench and significant minutes. At the expense of Muhl and Ducharme, for sure. Nothing against those players, but Ashlynn is super mature, she has excellent all-around instincts for the game, she can shoot and she will not turn the ball over. = playing time.
Not sure I agree, at the expense of Muhl? Nika is starting and will play big minutes, not the same minutes as last season obviously, and CD, hopefully will be healthy and recapture what she did her freshman year!
Some of you guys are way too high on Nika -- if you think she is going to start at the point and move Paige to the 2, you need to put down the crack pipe. Nika will be fighting for minutes all year long. The starters will almost certainly be: Paige, Azzi, Aubrey, Aaliyah, Ice. In order to be a starter, Nika will have to beat out either Azzi or Aubrey -- highly doubt it. She has weak handles and no shot. She will likely be the first person off the bench, but she won't be the starting PG over Paige. Not ever.
@@DirectionlessStudent First of all, crack is whack! Second, Nika and Paige have started SEVERAL games together, I will be sure to return to this thread when Nika is starting more times than not. Don't over think the lineup, pay attention to the skillset and how and where it best translates to the rotation.
@@tellylott77 They both started when Azzi was out. Can you play them both? Yes, because Paige CAN play the 2 because...well, because she's Paige. But Paige's natural position is at the point. Can you play Caitlin Clark at the 2? Sure. But why would you? Those two are the best two guards in the country and they are great passers as well as ball handlers and decision makers -- you WANT the ball in their hands as much as possible. Meanwhile Nika can only play PG because...wait for it...she has no shot. No mid-range, no 3. She's a lousy shooter. This is why you would rather have Azzi on the floor with Paige. And Aubrey is a better three than anyone else on the team, so...Nika is the odd woman out of your starting rotation. She will get time off the bench because she brings a spark on D, and I am sure Geno will let Nika start while they are playing in Europe, but I will bet you right now Nika is not in the starting 5 come next March. Take it to the bank. I wouldn't be shocked if KK has backup at the PG spot by March because frankly, she has far more talent.
@@DirectionlessStudent go back to their freshman season, they started 15 times together, AZZI wasn't on the team yet, but Christyn William's was and the 3 of them started A LOT!
She told you why--she was not a Colt fan--not even a football fan. I thought it was sweet she admitted having a crush on Rodgers. Maybe she will give some luck to Jets. 🙂
