If JEANTY makes it to 2000 yards, in under 200 carries they have to give it to him. That’s unbelievable no matter who the competition is. He’s on pace to do it. Hopefully the coach doesn’t pull him after 1 half anymore. Every other back in college history needed over 300 carries some needed more than 400 to do it.
Jeanty is the most exciting, game changing player in college football since Reggie bush. People knock his conference, he’s only played one half of the only conference game they’ve played so far. Averaging about 11 yards/carry!
It all comes down to personal preference , in terms of the “ most “ exciting and game changing you can easily argue that’s Travis Hunter because he literally impacts both sides of the ball and is literally the best player they have on both sides of the ball lol scores a touchdown , then gets an interception . It all comes down to personal preference
Hunter is absolutely a very good player but he’s not the first to play multiple positions at a high level. If he was leading the nation in receiving YPG and interceptions I’d have to agree with you but that’s not the case. Definitely above average at receiver and DB though, so no disrespect. Boises offense literally leads the nation in PPG in large part because of Jeanty and his ridiculous 11 YPC. He’s a home run waiting to happen after multiple broken tackles every time they give it to him.
@@Dogood-om6yz I understand what you mean , but we also have to keep in mind although some have played both ways at a high level , none have “ started” both ways and played at a high level . Staring versus getting packages on the other side is a totally different ball game , and this is coming from someone who played college football lol the fact that he can start on both sides and play the entire game and still be productive on the college level is literally mind blowing . In addition to that , Charles Woodson , and champ Bailey were dogs .. definitely one of the legends , but NFL teams werent highly considering them as WR’s in the draft , maybe a few discussions but it was mainly cornerback talk . That’s not the case with Travis , nfl teams are literally trying to figure out if he will be drafted as a WR or a Cornerback . Travis is on a different level bro lol he has 2 interceptions already , 1 forced fumble( game winning ) and has hasn’t let up a touchdown . On top of that the rate % at which QB’s target him is very low which is tough because it can take away stats , but at the same time it’s a reflection of how coaches really don’t want to throw his way . Then we go on the other side , I know you mentioned champ Bailey led his team in yards and etc , but Travis is not only leading his team yards , but also in TD catches . In addition to that . Champ Bailey had 744 yards and 5 tds , Travis has 561 yards and 6 tds and we’re not even half way in the season bro lol Travis is also top 10 in the FBS in receiving yards and touchdowns . Champ Bailey was neither lol he wasn’t even the top 10. So not only is Travis the leader on both sides of the ball , he is statistically one of the best in the FBS compared amongst people who play one position lol Travis is different bro , this is why hall of famers, coaches, current and ex athletes are all saying we’ve never seen this before and why he’s the heisman . Ashton is great , but unless he breaks Barry Sanders rushing record even though it’s versus lesser opponents in comparison , then this isn’t something we haven’t seen before
You’re acting like 11 yards per carry is something guys are doing every year. He’s on pace with Barry Sanders records with less carries and that was over 30 years ago. l Don’t think we’re changing each others minds and that’s ok. Hope both continue playing at a high level so we can have these discussions when season is over.
Depends on if you prefer the insane peak of Jeanty at his specific role or the never before seen versatility and toughness of being a full-time two way star player. I personally value the ladder more
Travis Hunter's season looks awfully similar to Champs' 1998 season. Champ won the award for best defender in college football while also leading his team in scrimmage yards and receiving yards.
@JosephZepeda champ wasn't effecting the game like travis is, you can legitimately argue he won them the baylor game alone, he was the only reason they stayed in the game, travis has a lebron like impact on the team, jeanty is like kobe with a lot of great stats, but he's not effecting wins and losses like travis, they lost to oregon with him having a good game
@@JosephZepeda yeah similar in a sense , but for context champ wasn’t top 10 in the FBS for receiving yards and tds, Travis currently is . Champ had around 700ish yards and 5 tds , Travis has 560 or 500 something yards and 6 tds and he hasn’t even played half of his games yet . Champ was a legend , but Travis impact is on another level and is actually being considered a WR or Corner in the draft whereas Champ was widely considered a corner going into the draft .
Facts: Hunter very good wr or db. He’s not the best at either; However, Ashton Jeanty is the best running back of all time arguably. On pace to break Barry Sanders records only playing about half of the game. (Sanders had multiple games of 30 and 40 plus carries. Ashton had 13 carries last game)
I don’t get this argument that Hunter isn’t the best wr or cb and so he isn’t the best player. He is easily top 5 in both position in cfb and that to me means he is the best player
Ashton Jeanty is the most unique football player in the country. He is the most patient runner I've ever seen; small in stature but defenders bounce off him like he's Derrick Henry.
@@Hatibaby445 Not at all. I went to school in Boulder, and want Colorado to make the CFP more than anyone. What Hunter is doing has been done before. What Jeanty is doing has not been done before as far as being a 5'8 Derrick Henry.
@@gridirongodsnetwork when was the last time you seen a player play both sides and be top 10 on Both sides 100+ snaps a game? Would u say around 20 years ago? If so that just means They were generation like Travis. Nothing generational abt a running back going for 200+ against the Hawaii rainbow warriors 🤦🏽♂️
“Oh well he’s not in a power 5 conference” with this logic how do we not see RBs in g5 conferences getting yardage like this every year. Plus Boise states sos is stronger than most p5 schools is.
@@gavinjackson5508 yeah bro, Boises sos the next two weeks is menacing I mean that Aggies front is filled with 1st rounders…oh wait that’s the Utah State Aggies nvm. Ok, they do have to travel to Mississippi to play the Rebels…dang it, turns out that’s actually 90s basketball powerhouse UNLV Rebels they’re playing. Gtfoh 😂
@@billeh60this comment makes nonsense. If it’s that easy in g5, running backs would be putting these numbers up all the time….check in with #4 Oregon on their opinion of Jeanty big man. Wazzu as well
Here’s the deal. Jeanty SHOULD win. He’s on track to beat the all time rushing record and has sat out a full game. But because the political system of college ball hates non power teams, Travis Hunter wins it. Even tho Colorado is so overrated and nearly lost to an fcs school, and Boise has had a harder schedule thus far. Sorry Jeanty and Boise, that’s just how it goes. Always has always will
I mean 95 carries, over 1000 yards, 16 tds. Thats 17% of Jeantys carries end in a touchdown. I mean Jeanty is the reason Boise is winning. Plus hes not playing in 2nd halfs. Imagine if he played full games.
3:04 chip is forever in my heart as a duck fan! Dude did so much for the program its not even funny. Chips teams were crazy good. Set a new precedent, new standard...he raised the bar. I love chip kelly. I will always respect him wherever he goes.
A good running back is a good running back. A good QB is a good QB. I'm sorry but that is not the BEST PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Travis Hunter is doing something that NOBODY has done in COLLEGE HISTORY! This shouldnt even be a discussion. If we are talking traditional positions then yes Jeanty is the best at his POSITION. But when you talk about the BEST PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL, That is clearly Travis Hunter hands down.
Hunter - Great at 2 positions....who cares. You can find great DB's and Great Wr's, who cares if one person can do both? Is he leading in INT's or TD's? Yards? Tackles for loss? Anything? Is he? If I could take either one, I'd take Jeanty, easy. I hate BSU by the way.
Travis hasn’t let up a TD all season also not letting up more than 30 pass yards all season. Locking down a side then giving you 4 back to back 100 games against better comp
The guy on the right is not buying in on Colorado football team because they don't understand the that they have ex nfl players and coaches which means they are playing faster. The players are just catching up to the change of pace being coached
We will never see another Travis Hunter ever again !!! People don’t realize what they’re watching ….i like Jeanty but we will see another dominant running back
Jeanty is on pace to do what no one has done ever before. He's having a better season than Barry Sanders did in 1988. Saying he's a "dominant" running back is a moronic oversimplification.
@@sportgeek2028its still a d1 fbs conference that has produced all pros like Bobby Warner. Calling them construction workers when you probably never even touched the field at the collegiate level.
@@sportgeek2028You can laugh at the boise schedule all you want jeanty is putting these numbers up against top teams to. Look at Oregon who's number 3. He almost put 200 on them. Laughing and boises schedule while also ignoring the fact Colorado plays nobody most weeks as well is laughable.
Travis. No question. Can Jeanty play defense? Can Cam Ward play defense? Shouldn't even be a doubt. Could either play 130 snaps a game at an ultra high level?
I didn’t know being an above average 2 way player was now required to win the heisman. Don’t get me wrong, Travis is very good, but not leading any major stats at those positions.
@@Shiny101 Jeanty is the best RB in the nation. Travis is the best Football player in the nation. They are both great at what they do, but the Heisman Trophy is for the best football player in the nation--that's Travis.
@@treezyyy8618 yeah I know, CBs are a rarer skill in the NFL than WR, I believe he’s around 8th or 9th best WR, but I said maybe top 5 for the benefit of the doubt 😂
@@ilikecheeseburger42 I’ll take the word of actual NFL front offices over some rando on YT. Travis is the first full time 2 way star in cfb since the 1940s. Not just doing it, but being the best player on the field on both sides of the ball.
Jeanty playing against high schoolers. Not say jeanty isn't good. But if you literally play NOBODY. Nobody cares about the records. The teams he playing are so bad Jeanty don't even play second half's
Travis is literally an anomaly, there have been none before... like there will be none after. ALSO he's never been shutdown he went for 110 at Lincoln. Stop the madness
@@billeh60 Nebraska bruh....when they were ranked! Not their entire schedule! Did you watch Ashton in the Oregon game? Exactly! Did you watch Travis in the Nebraska game? I get it with Travis nice guy and talented....but the only QB he's had on the college level is Shadeur! In which Travis makes him look better then he really is👌
@@billeh60lol buffs almost lost to fcs. Boise has played a way harder schedule so far. Talk to #4 Oregon and wazzu who is a great team. Colorado has always sucked and this sanders era will collapse
Jeanty on track to have potentially the greatest RB season of all time. Hunter not the best WR or CB this season. I do get that he's a unique player playing both sides and doing it VERY well, but the line between who deserves the Heisman is blurrier than it seems.
@@PatrickDoig How do conclude who is the best bc last time I checked, play calling, QB (which he has a top 3 in the league) and of course an OL that allows the QB to make throws in which that OL is one of the worst in the league. Just asking for a couch coach-player determines the best.
@@Shiny101You’re delusional if you think Jeanty is running for those kind of yards every week in a power 4 conference. Boise State plays nothing but overmatched tomato cans outside of one game against Oregon. Hunter is by far the best cb in cfb. Hes given up like 38 yards in receiving all year, with 2 interceptions and a forced fumbled that won the game in overtime. Hes also a top 5 receiver in college. He shuts down the best wr defense and then lights up the best cb on defense for a 120 plays every week in the BIG 12. Hunter is on a different different level and comparing Jeanty to him is absolutely retarded
Jeanty will have to rush for 2900 years to win but college is just funny we are seeing Travis do something we never seen in are life time but hey someone else should win 😂😂😂
Ever heard of Champ Bailey? Travis Hunter's season looks awfully similar to Champs' 1998 season. Champ won the award for best defender in college football while also leading his team in scrimmage yards and receiving yards.
Jeanty looks slow. Maybe a 4th rd RB in the NFL draft. Hunter will be a top 5 pick and is a unique talent. I'd choose Hunter now, but expect someone from a real conference on a real team to rise above the rest by season's end.
Dude are you insane? He’s a first rounder without question. Boise had Doug Martin in the first round 14 years ago and this guy makes him look like a freshman
@Mountaindwell4 Boise has a good scheme/OLine. Even Jeanty's backups are averaging 8 yards per carry. I'm simply just not impressed with him as a prospect. Good production, but he doesn't stick out to me. I see good push by the OLine, poor defensive tackling, poor angles by defenders, and decent contact balance.
