A couple notes - Russia is not supposed to stop at 4000ad - data from before 1800 is pure speculation based on research done by myself - if I missed an Empire it's most likely because it wasn't on the list of "historical empires" I complied to make this video - I hope you all enjoy this video as it took a while to make! I think it would make sense to make it so only territories countries have in Asia count towards the GDP, so countries like the Roman Empire and Soviet Union don't dominate when they're centered around Europe

I agree, however I included them for more diversity in the video as the beginning would be quite lackluster without the Roman Empire since there we're only a handful of kingdoms around at the time. Additionally the USSR wasn't on top for very long and it wasn't even on the list for that long either. Thanks for the input though, I'll consider it for future videos as I plan on making one of these for each major continent!

@@dragonballseries3977 I'm aware about Philippines's natural resources,gold etc but U can't deny the fact that before Mughals and British Invaded India .India contributed 33% to the worldwide gdp, although all that wealth was stolen and our advanced scientific scriptures were burnt. there is still one thing which cannot be stolen which is human resource you know that almost MNC's have an Indian as their CEO ex: google,Microsoft adobe,pepsico etc .

I feel like this should’ve been obvious but the whole list was way off with the Song Dynasty. It was literally the world’s first modern economy, made up over 80% of the world’s gdp at its peak, and had an economy more than triple the size of all of Europe combined. Idk where you’re info came from but it’s so far beyond off that it’s kinda sad on this one. The Song Dynasty was the richest economy to ever exist at its time and would hold that position for the next several hundred years until at least the peaks of the Ming Dynasty and the Spanish Empire if not even later than that.

Its also interesting to note that the two Filipino kingdoms saw the demise of their GDPs in the 1500s. I can only think of one good reason--the arrival of the Spaniards in 1521.
