Where To Donate To Help Asian Communities 2021 - nymag.com/stra...
Hello, this is Mick.
Recently I conducted a social experiment to see what sort of racism Asians in America suffer from.
As an Asian, as an influencer, and as a video creator I felt like I should do something and after searching for something I can do to make a difference under the current circumstances, I decided on this project.
Everyone, racism against Asians is happening all over the world and recently the situation seems to have been getting worse.
On March 16th, six Asian women were shot dead in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia, in the southern United States.
These people were killed but shootings happen every day, how does it affect me?
"Our silence is complicity," Biden said.
So, what do we have to do?
I don’t want to turn my back on my Asian brothers and sisters.
At the very least, I want to take action to make more people aware of this.
If you feel bad for people suffering from racism, I believe you have a moral responsibility to help them.
I will never forget; I will do what I can.
I hope you will all never forget this incident either.
I sincerely hope that this video helps you feel something.
At the same time, I want to recognize that there is a lot of discrimination in Japan as well.
If anyone around you is being discriminated against, please, please reach out.
I hate to even think about it, but I also experienced a lot of discrimination in Japan when I was a child.
"Because I'm Korean." "Because my nationality is different." "Because different blood is flowing in my veins."
Wrong. I'm Asian and I'm a human being.
There is a lot we can do, please take action beyond just feeling bad.
Now is the time to get up.
Act if you feel.
Mick Kim.

That dude at 4:03 who walked him away and had a respectful manner even after what the actor said was so impressive. Physically putting himself between the two and walking him away in a non aggressive way, asking his name and engaging him in a dialogue has a massive impact and you can see the actor is flummoxed especially when he tells him look we are all people and I respect you. The rest did good in easing the tension temporarily like the candy lady who tried to make the victim feel better. But that guy's response to the aggressor is how minds are changed. He will do great things, he is born leader.

I live in Australia and this happens to me almost every week. The difference is that no one ever helped me. I have been ignored, screamed at and assaulted for being Asian. Even when it took place in broad daylight, on a busy street in one of the major cities here, no one cared. They just walked on and pretended they didn't see it. I try to avoid going out these days because of this. It really is detrimental to your mental health when people constantly remind you that you don't belong and you should "f off to your country". I am so touched to see these amazing people who stood up for him. They are really the best! It's so great to see more of the good side of humanity. It really gives me hope and I just wish there were more people like them in this world.

In another video, he explained that he received a lot of discrimination in Japan when he was a child for being Korean. He said he wanted to make this video to unite Asians that they face the same problems when they go abroad no matter where they come from. All I can say is the world would be a much better place if everyone stopped judging others and started looking inward more... Why can't there be more people like the girl in the video?

The “I go to McDonald’s every day” guy was the master at de-escalation. I love the time stamp at 7:53 because you can't say those type of demeaning phrases around black people. We're used to being subject to the same type of dishonorable things you're saying to another race. So immediately we take offense. Which is why I was so proud to see that man be defensive of Mick to help him and to show nobody should be submissive to that type of deplorable behavior. 💜👏🏼

what are you on about... every single race was being demeaned like that.... slavery doesn't equal being a race issue at all... slavery was a process of dehumanisation and using the N word towards black slaves was used to dehumanise black slaves even more... black people aren't the 'subject' since every race was... the reason why slavery was banished to be an illegal process was because of white ppl who saw it as a morally bad thing which is what the British set out to do and then it spread to America where the civil war happened between the north and the south to fight against or stand with slavery, everything after that throughout American history were everyone being the 'subject' to what has happened not just black ppl

This video made me cry !!! I cried for all this kindness the kind people show to a stranger, to a person who is bullied on!! I am a Chinese and this is my ninth year in America. In my nine year I could feel many tried to hid their racism, but , sometimes I can feel the racism they tried to hide ! That made me upset. That is why I do not trust people around me much and I even do not want to make any local friends! It is sad to say this. I am glad to watch this video.

@Maya Davis I 100% do blame them. It’s no longer enough to just not be racist, you must be actively anti-racist. If you’re willing to stand by and watch something like that happen and do nothing, you’re a terrible person. People who are victims don’t have the *option* to “not want to get involved.” We live it every day. Check your privilege and stand up for people instead of allowing it to happen like a coward.

@HowardSternfan 2 I’m so disappointed. I can’t believe that you are not smart enough to just recognize that you’re action is making a lot of people sad including us. Not just Asians. Also did you know that the condition in Asia is so much better than the U.S? I don’t think you even knew that little fast. Cause almost every racist doesn’t even try to understand the truth. You are too afraid to face the truth so you’re running away from it by insulting others. And the easiest way is to insult Asians because there is a reason for it. But actually if you just searched about it for like only 10 minutes, you can find out that they are innocent. I don’t mean I don’t have any anger about it, but I don’t think insulting others are the best choice. This is the time that we must work together and overcome this pandemic. I’m sorry for sending this long message to you, but I just wanted you to understand the essence of human will appears when there’s a big crisis. Do you want humanity to be like that. I don’t.

France lies about everything, french propaganda in french media lies about the figures for protests, about the events in France, also about other countries. China doesn't have Uyghur camps, I made a playlist on the subject, you can come and see. Hong Kong has never asked to be independent, it is the United States which is behind these protests. Huawei actually is totally innocent. The Covid-19 doesn't come from China but from the United States in their lab in Maryland. All of that, french media never talked about, but still continues to spit on China and make anti-China propaganda and fake news about China. And we don't eat bats, what the hell! The lying french media brainwash french people and make them think badly about China. Anti-China hatred in France is fabricated by french media. France always treats China like an enemy and sucks the United States, it's the dog of the United States. France wants to follow the United States as an enemy of China, so I support Corsica 100%. And if France still says anything about Hong Kong, I will not be surprised that China also says something in return about Corsica, or even that China supports the FLNC militarily. France should think carefully and take care only of its ass and nothing else, stop sticking its nose elsewhere. Hong Kong is China, it's an internal matter of China and only concerns China, so France as an outside country has no right to say anything. Would France like Albanians to come and interfere in what is happening in France? Would french people like Albanians to come and say them "now you have to do this or that in your country"? No. So France has to stop acting as a colonizer trying to meddle in what is happening elsewhere. They say that France and colonialism are in the past, it's over, I totally disagree, France is still colonialist today, it's just they use less war today, now they make interference, protests, riots in other countries. I HATE France, I wish I leave this country soon, I want to go to China. Or in Corsica, are chinese people welcome in Corsica?
