is there much change going from the kayano 23 to the 24s, the 24s are so hard to get ahold of in my size and the 23s are plenty in stock on the asics website, i run on average 5-10 miles 3-4 days a week so is it worth waiting out for the 24s or getting the 23s, not holding you responsible for my purchase just looking for a little advice, thanks
Hi! Great question. Both the ASICS GEL-Kayano 23 and Mizuno Wave Rider 20 provide great comfort for your long runs. However, the Kayano 23 is a cushion level 5, which means it offers the highest level of cushioning on the market. The Wave Rider 20 is a cushion level 4. You'll still get great support, but with more feel and bounce-back. Also, the Kayano 23 weighs in at 11.5 ounces, while the Wave Rider 20 weighs in at 9.6 ounces. Hi Mike. Depends on what type of runner you are. The Brooks Addiction 12 is a "motion control" shoe and a great option if you have severe overpronation. Motion Control shoes exhibit qualities such as stiff heels and straighter lasts to really help counter the tendencies of overpronation. The ASICS GEL-Kayano 23 is a "stability" shoe and best for moderate overpronation. This shoe features technology such as the Impact Guide System, which offers a slightly stiffer post on each side of your arch to reinforce an efficient running gait. Plus, the Brooks Addiction 12 is significantly heavier than the Kayano 23, which is important to consider as well.
Hi, I have had these for a while and I used them for my flat feet and overpronation as the wear of my trainers always tilts inwards. I have just had specialists insoles done for my flat feet and I wonder if this support system is compatible with them. Thanks
Samyak Jain me too. I have little flat foot, i bought. The kayano 23 yesterday to be honest as per advice from a link in the net, the kayano 22 recomended for flat footer people but size was not available for me! When I try then the 23 i noticed a comfortable cushioning and really nice shoes much better than the go walk 3 that i have from skitchers! I advice u to try and compare physicaly between the kayano 21,22 and the 23 to make final decision ☺️
Hi Francisco! Great question! The Asics Gel Nimbus 20 would have the most gel in the forefoot area. If you would like to give one of our Fit Experts a call at 800-743-3206, we would be more than happy to recommend one or the other depending on your arch type and profile!
Hi Zaman, great question. Both the ASICS GEL-Kayano 23 and Nike LunarGlide 8 are great options for low arches or flatter feet. However, these shoes do differ in a couple areas. The LunarGlide 8 is significantly lighter than the Kayano 23 at 9.5 ounces. Plus, you'll find a little more "give" and flexibility while running. The Kayano 23 weighs in at 11.5 ounces, but offers awesome durability. In addition, the ASICS GEL-Kayano 23 provides a bit more cushioning. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to contact our Fit Experts at (800) 743-3206. They eat questions for breakfast.
0:17 Well, it didn't. It's significantly worse for those with wider feet than 20th model. I've got shin splint after every 5k+ run in those, and it was never a case with 20th. Otherwise thanks for a review!
Hey Kevin. Great question. It all comes down to preference. Both the ASICS GEL-Kayano 23 and Saucony Hurricane ISO 3 are stability shoes with top-of-the-line cushioning technology. Here's where the two differ: the Kayano 23 is heavier at 11.5 ounces. This is due to more features focused to enhance support -- giving it a slightly stiffer feel as well. The Hurricane ISO 3 will give you more room in the toe box as well as more flexibility upon toe-off. Plus, with the Hurricane ISO 3, you'll find a close-to-ground feel, which some runners prefer for a lower-impact stride. All in all, both shoes are excellent choices for daily long-distance running. To sum it up -- the Kayano 23 shines a little more in support, while the Hurricane ISO 3 shines more in flexibility. Don't hesitate to contact our Fit Experts at (800) 743-3206 if you need anything more. They'd love to hear from you. Thanks Kevin -- happy running.
I am neutral runner so is this shoes better or should i find other one and also which is asics neutral shoes to buy right now your recommendation would be worth thanks for the video its great review.
Hi Anup!Great question! You may want to take a look at the Asics Gel Nimbus Gel 19's. They are more for a neutral runner that offers little to no control (neutral). The Kayano's have always been a stability shoe designed for moderate to severe over-pronator. Check out the Asics Gel Nimbus 19's here: goo.gl/KeR69g, or you can give one of our Awesome Fit Experts a call at 800-743-3206 and we'll do our best to help you out!

Hello! The Asics Kayano is primarily a running shoe, however, there are people that use their running shoes for all sorts of cross training as well as other activities. They are one of the most supportive shoes we sell that also provide lots of cushioning. As far as the back pain, a lot would depend on what type of arch you have. We have a really neat feature on our website called the "Shoe Dog" and all you do is follow the easy steps and we'll recommend a few different shoes depending on the information you provide for us. You are also always welcome to give one of our Fit Experts a call at 800-551-5558 and we can recommend something over the phone as well! In the meantime, here's the link to our "Shoe Dog":goo.gl/ViqoKF
Hey Matt, so if you were to choose, Kayano 23, Lunarglide 8 or the newest Sequence Supernova Boost, which one would you choose? Im actually looking for my next stability shoe thus, the question. Thank you very much!
Hi Jose! Great question. If you're looking for both stability and the highest level of cushioning on the market, the Kayano 23 is the shoe for you. However, the LunarGlide 8 and Supernova Sequence 8 Boost provide a little more flexibility. All great choices! If you have more questions, give our Fit Experts a call at (800) 732-3206 - they'll make sure to find your perfect fit.
Hi nobita21! Great question. Look at the stability shoe vs. neutral shoe as a spectrum. You may be a neutral runner closer to the stability end OR a stability runner closer to the neutral end. So, some neutral runners do find benefits when adding a stability shoe to their runs (especially with longer distances). However, keep in mind that stability shoes help improve over-pronation. If you have a great running gait - you may want to stick with true neutral shoes. ASICS offers other awesome neutral options such as the ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 (check out here: bit.ly/2dSxX3j) and ASICS DynaFlyte (check out here: bit.ly/2dSwauX). Hi! Great question! The Kayano's are considered a Level 5 stability shoe. They are designed to help with moderate to severe pronation. They do have lots of cushioning and are great for logging lots of miles. They are designed with an ample amount of gel in the heel as well as the forefoot for cushioning. The Dynamic Duomax™ Support System: Enhances stability and support, with reduced weight and increased platform stability. If you would like to give one of our Awesome Fit Experts a call at 800-743-3206, they would be happy to help find your perfect shoe for training as well as the race.
Hi Nishan. The ASICS GEL-Kayano 23 is an awesome choice for long-distance running like cross country. The Kayano series has been a top-choice for runners of all kinds for several years. Plus, they are known for their durability. Keep in mind if you have never run in the Kayano series before that they do tend to run a little stiff due to their supportive and gait-enhancing features. Plus, make sure to grab a half-size up from your regular size. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you!
Hey, Nishan - Just start wearing those Kayanos! We suggest taking it slow, especially if the structure of the shoe is different from what you're used to working out/running in. Try going for a five minute run or one-miler to see how it feels and build up from there. Enjoy!
Is their any big difference betweenkayano 23-24 i have flet feet... need shoes for flet feet problem..23 available at low price with 40℅ discount .. is their any other shoes for flet feet???
Hi Ravi! Great question! So far the feedback is that the Kayano 24's run just a little bit more roomy than the Kayano 23's. Both continue to have the gel in the heel and forefoot for maximum shock absorption and cushioning. They are still meant, built and designed to help with moderate to severe pronation (low to flat arches). There are a couple more options you may want to check out, like the Brooks Beast or the Nike Lunarglide 9's. If you get a chance, you can always give one of our Awesome Fit Experts a call at 800-743-3206 and we'll be happy to try to help you out.
Another note to consider is if you are a neutral runner or tend to over-pronate. If you are a neutral runner and include sprints in your workout, the Kayano 23 may have too much stability for what you're training for. Look at the stability shoe vs. neutral shoe as a spectrum. You may be a neutral runner closer to the stability end OR a stability runner closer to the neutral end. So, some neutral runners do find benefits when adding a stability shoe like the Kayano 23 to their runs (especially with longer distances). If you would like to give one of our Awesome Fit Experts a call at 800-743-3206, we would be more than happy to help you out!

Hey there Dimitris! You'll love the cushioning in the Kayano 23. In this version, ASICS introduced their FlyteFoam midsole technology. It's 55 percent lighter than the industry standard with organic fibers that bounce your shoe back to its original shape in the space of each stride to provide perfect comfort. Want to learn more about the Kayano? Contact our Fit Experts at (800) 743-3206 or visit our website at www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/08875/mens-asics-gelkayano-23/.
Hi Richard! Due to the high abrasion rubber in the outsole, the Kayano 23 is exceptionally durable. However, it is meant for road, track, and gravel paths mainly. If you're thinking about running on some intense trails, take a look at the ASICS GT-2000 4 Trail here: www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/04664/mens-asics-gt2000-4-trail/. The ASICS GT-2000 4 Trail has an updated version coming out next month! If you have any other questions or just want to chat about shoes give our Fit Experts a call at (800) 743-3206.
