Hello. Sorry for replying again. I managed to get a sample for the 1080 v13. And my first impression is wow, this is so much softer and lighter than the Nimbus 26. There's one big problem though, it's somewhat "too soft", a term that I never though i would say in a million years. I've always thought the softer = the better. But the 1080 v13 is too soft to the point that when I stand, my heels dig in to the cushion too much that my feet are now inclined and is struggling with balancing due to the unevenness. It's like standing on memory foam. Is this normal? I don't think I weigh that much, but I guess 88kg is too heavy for these shoes? I needed them as my daily office shoes, but it includes a lot of standing around than walking. Standing on these and constantly trying to balance myself is a real hassle. The only good use for these I think is for constant walking/brisk-walking since when doing those exercises, the weight shift between the fore-foot and back-foot rapidly changes, so you don't actually fully bottom out the back-foot's cushion, therefore not causing so much imbalance. As for the Nimbus 26, surprisingly, I felt that they have the same softness with the foam on the fore-part of the shoe, especially when laying my foot down heel first and rolling my foot to propel forwards. Although the heel foam is definitely stiffer, but actually fits me more when standing around because it's soft enough for me to feel the cushion, but hard enough to not dig in too much. So even if all of my weight is being carried by my heels, my feet are still balanced and laying flat on the floor.
Gracias.
Waiting for a discount on the 1080, I need something nice and plush for my easy runs and from everything I’ve heard it sounds like the most well suited for my running style.
Excelent video, which one is the best for comfortable shoes use for long daily activities, Among nimbus 25, 26, NB V13 and NB rebel V4. Need your advise mate 😃
Thanks! The Nimbus 25 is my pick as you can save some $$ at the moment as it's an older model. You really can't go wrong with the 1080 v13 or 26 either. All amazing shoes
I love, love, love the New Balance 1080 v12. Perfect for short spirts of running and long distance power walking. However the New Balance V13s r way to bouncy. My legs and knees hurt after my workout. I'm looking for a shoe that's like the NB V12. Can u help?
I usually measure shoes in cm since it's the only measurement that I can directly measure along with the length of my foot. With that being said, if I heard you correctly, the Asics are supposed to be longer at the same size vs the New Balance? Now I'm even more confused. Because based on both their respective websites they claim these sizes: New Balance US 11 = 29 cm Asics US 11 = 28.5 cm
It really depends on the shoe, some ASICS fit long and some short. The length of the fit can be affected by the amount of padding etc, so the shoe may measure a certain length but appear to feel either too long or short depending on what other features the shoe has influenced where your foot actually sits in the shoe. Hopefully that helps?
@run-are I see, thank you very much, I think I understand it more now. Quick question again though, which one of them feels wider? I just got my 11.5 wide asics, and the sizing is simply perfect. It's an excellent shoe, truly your money's worth. I spent more on ultraboosts, and they absolutely pale in comparison. But I wanna get the 1080 v13 as well, but sadly, they only have it at 11 max. I still kinda wanna purchase it, though, but since it's overseas, there's no return option. My feet aren't wide, I just want a roomier feel since I only walk/briskwalk. Apologies for the long reply. Basically, what I'm trying to ask is, will an 11.5 n26 be a stark difference to an 11 1080 v13?
@@anthonysilver2983 yes, the New Balance will feel a lot more smaller. The 1080 has the more narrow toebox and is a more snug fit. It will be a pretty big difference from a 11.5 in the Nimbus 26
@run-are I see, that's really unfortunate since I'm leaning more towards the 1080, but thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I really appreciate it.
Right! I think there is a difference in size between NB and Asics? What's the solution? What did you do? I want to order from Amazon, but I had a size problem!
