THANK YOU TRID "Compliment fisher" I was having a conversation with a friend about another person who does this to us all the time, and I wasn't sure what to call it, so we just called him an "Attention Whore", but "Compliment Fisher" is much classier and much closer to what he does. He doesn't necessarily always fetch for attention but once in a while he'll say negative things about himself in order to look for positive reinforcement. Compliment Fisher. Perfect.

Here's what I think and what I've learnt on how to get / keep a happy marriage like these guys: 1. Follow Trid's advice on not thinking too far ahead. Day by day, no pressure, no expectations, just let it fall into place. You'll know you're with the right person if it just falls into place naturally without any pressure and expectations. In my experience, this kinda happens when you least expect it or when you reflect later. You don't even really know it's happening until it's happened. 2. Respect. Your relationship will never survive if you don't respect each other. This is the biggest problem I see. Even if a couple respect each other at first, disagreements creep in and they don't deal with them respectfully and that disrespect and tension just builds and builds until they fall out of love with each other. Practice your diplomacy skills and never let your ego dictate how you act. You can easily say one word that will scar your partner so never let it get to that point, put your relationship before yourself. If your partner doesn't do the same, they're not ready or not the one for you. 3. Honesty from day one. You don't have to throw all your cards on the table all at once but being honest about what you want and where you see your life going is important to put forward before you end up wasting each others time. Never be dishonest about how you feel either. We sense this dishonesty very well and if it isn't addressed, the relationship will break down rapidly. 4. Have fun! Laugh, joke around. When you feel at ease and respect someone, this becomes very easy. But if you're not nice to be around and can't have a laugh, you probably won't last in the relationship. Making your partner laugh and enjoying each others laughter is, I think, the most important thing for any relationship. Don't worry if you don't particularly laugh a lot yourself. I personally don't actually laugh a lot, but I like to make other people laugh and that makes me happy. I feel like Trid is kinda the same as that if you notice, he rarely laughs himself, he's the one making her laugh with his sense of humour. 5. Make time for sex and intimacy and never EVER let it fade. It's very easy to let this slip but unfortunately, it can get to a point that it isn't reparable. The worst thing you can do is to just become your partners house mate. If you lose that romantic connection, you essentially are just married to your best friend and inevitably your desires will take you elsewhere. I personally believe this is why like 50% of marriages/relationships fail. On a side note, if your sexual desires and needs aren't being met, say you have a high sex drive with a "vivid imagination" lol, and your partner isn't so "active" and doesn't have the desire to explore, you're probably sexually "incompatible" and I personally don't think you should just accept that.
