Aside from Ariel, I think Sierra should do Megara. She looks almost like her and no doubt she'll slay the song "I won't say I'm in love". Oh, please make this happen!
For her last question, she actually honored her statement. I'm obsessed with her concert recordings, and she even reads a love letter her grandparents wrote during the war. And she does sing a lot of 40s music, it's so beautiful. Love how dedicated and loving she was in honoring her grandparents.
Alora La Angel of Music Oh. My. GOSH. yeah. i shouldn't be surprised though. my profile pic and all. Yeah. I've got a range large enough to play Phantom, Meg, and Madame Giry. I can't play Christine, cuz i'm no soprano. More a Mezzo-Soprano.
Karis Daae Haha yea. I don't know what I am, but I am trying to expand my range without killing my throat!! As soon as I make a bucket list, playing in a phantom of the opera play or singing one of the songs on stage is definitely going up there lol..
Alora La Angel of Music yep. same here. i can sing Christine, using HEAD VOICE. it kills my throat. oddly enough, i'm arranging a libretto of Phantom right now. Killing my eyes in the process. you would not BELIEVE how long the script is.
Especially since Sierra said she wants to play Lucy in "Jekyll & Hyde", I think her and Ramin should work together again with Ramin playing Jekyll/Hyde. Another revival, I think so!
omg am i the only one who jumped out of my seat when she said she wanted to be lucy in jekyll and hyde!!!! :') SHE HAS TO!! she would be amazing and i LOVE that musical. please sierra go for your dream!
Phantom is not actually an opera. It's a Musical Theatre piece that happens to take place inside of an opera house. A real opera for example would be Madame Butterfly.
when she sang think of me, i was just thinking of her actually playing christine! little did she know she would be playing her a couple years later hahah
Its amazing how much she's changed, she seems so young here compared to her new ask a star video, and yet the Sierra we all love is clearly still there.
I love her so much! I'm also so pleased that she's now acheiving the fame that she so truly deserves. Seriously, one of my favorite people. I would love to meet her. And I'd also love for her to publish an autobiography.
The only characters in POTO that actually showcase a taste of what real opera is are Carlotta and Piangi. All of the other characters sing in traditional musical theatre style. Including Christine.
Christine Daae is an opera singer in the book. Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the show as a Musical Theatre piece. Opera and Musical Theatre are actually very different. Sierra is an incredible singer but she was never trained in opera. Here are some real opera singers. Renee Fleming, Natalie Dessay, Anna Netrebko and Sumi Jo. If you listen to them sing and compare to Sierra. You can hear how different their vocal technique is.
I wrote a letter to Sierra!!! It’s been a couple of weeks, and I have yet to heard from her as of right now. I’m hoping she’ll write back in a month from now!!!!🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Actually it's a common mistake when people think that Sarah Brightman sings opera. She sings classical cross-over. Which is still remarkable but it's not real technical opera.
Well, Sarah has actually performed in full operas on the theatrical stage, no microphone, at numerous venues. She, by technicality, an opera singer. She does call herself a classical-crossover singer, but she when in operatic & classical performances she considers herself an opera singer.
This reminds me why I love theater. I am beyond devastated for choosing a different career. Nevertheless, as my uncle said: "Whatever you do, you should help the community". Besides, where I live, nobody cares about acting. If only I were born in the USA... 😞😞😞
I swear shes me in a few years. ha I ice skated for 10 years and love broadway! Plus she answered the questions the same way i would, like to play lucy! I would love that! but thats awesome!
Thank you! I've been saying the same thing when I see it on videos of Phantom. She's an incredible talent & Phantom is a magical show. However neither are opera. That's just a fact.
Sierra, I agree with you...I love "Jeckyll and Hyde". We seem to love a lot of the same music. I really hope that you and Ramin come to Broadway and revive "Love Never Dies." I found out about it only 2 weeks ago, and I have become a true phan!
@operagirl121 lol Why would she be? One of the best parts of the last production I was in was our sound checks. We all did a huge array of songs (I specifically remember doing Finian's Rainbow, Carrie, and some Sondheim -- another cast member alternated between Broadway and classic rock) and some even imitated voices. And sometimes if a song was well-liked, we'd all finish singing it in the dressing room. It's all about getting your energy up. Legit warm-ups come a bit later before places. :)
If you love Sierra, get your tickets now! Who knows when she'll return to the role of Christine. If she ever does at that. As far as I'm concerned, this was her best role so far. Both acting and vocal-wise.
@TheEvilsquiril This was a few years before she started taking lessons for Master Class. And in technical terms she's not because she hasn't actually performed in an opera show nor did she graduate with a degree in it from college. (Kristin Chenoweth & Kelli O'Hara did) She has a Bachelor degree in Musical Theatre. However you can't deny she's a versitle singer. :)
UGH! She's just too cute! She looks beautiful and her personality is spot on adorable!!! If I had a super power, I would be a shape-shifter because I could then shift into a bird and fly or I could become something like a table so that others would be oblivious to me.
I think Sierra should publish an autobiography when she becomes an international superstar....because somedays I really wonder what she was like and what she looked like as a child!
@MsOctoberstorm She's wasn't naked in the show. She was wearing a bra and undergarments. They blended into her skin tone. On the suggestion box to the right there's a video called TLM-Backstage The Little Mermaid and Sierra Boggess. Towards the end of the video she's in a hallway talking to the camera. You can see the fabric on her shoulders. That's what she meant about it remaining afamily show.
@BwayDreamer1128 It's kind of ironic because the other day I was thinking about her playing that role while I was thinking that Ashley Brown would be a great Christine Daae. :)
