amazing, I can relate to her so much, Im also a single mum with arthritis, osteporosis and anxiety beyond normality, I have no family at all or decent friends, I have smoked also for 35 yrs since and will be turning 50 next year so I want to give up now before xmas and be smoke free for my 50th! Smoking has ruined my life, lost me jobs, friends, partners, respect from my daughter and above all, my health, teeth, aging etc etc etc, I am so thin due to smoking Im sure. im on day 4 almost of the programme and had a bad start to today which was the 1st day of not smoking until an hour after getting up, I made it 45 mins but had wrecked stuff in the kitchen as I got so angry, had 5 things on at once and couldnt cope.. I am finding it hard as I have to juggle so many things every day alone and even to find the time to do this programme and watch vids etc is hard some days. I have a child to take care of and 4 cats also and I work and keep house along with all my pain and problems so its not easy as you know. anyway.. watching you has given me some hope tonight.. although....I dont exercise at all.... been told not to as Im so thin and have osteo and 3 other neck and back problems... anyways, wish me luck with the actual quit day...and good luck to you in future. xx

@@dianefelix6108I’m 51. Your interview actually hit a trigger with me when you talked about smoking as being the replacement for others as you were doing alone. I also use soda to kill the taste. In other ways I’m also a health nut 😂. I’ve tried a few times to quit and am debating using this program. Thanks for sharing your journey ❤

Thanks ladies great video! I can certainly relate to Diane. Like Diane am very independent person and must do everything for myself. Only because there's no one else to rely on, except myself. Left a very long, abusive marriage with no support at all. Raised 2 brilliant kids on my own. Lost 3 stones. Changed my whole attitude to food. It's not a diet but a life style, regarding food. No bread, pasta, sugar or any processed food. Even fruits are restricted as it's sugar. Natural or not it adds up. Am committed to exercise and will walk my 20,000 steps a day. Comes rain or shine. Plus my spinning, cardio and yoga classes. My favourite drink is water. No sugary drinks, no alcohol. Am doing that with ease. I can sit with people eating burger, chips and cake too. Followed by tons of alcohol 🍸. I don't feel tempted at all. Am so pleased with my healthy choices, as long as am smoking a cigarette and having a cup of coffee to go with it. It defies logic, as healthy choices and smoking are the definition of contradiction!!😭 love my water but coffee comes immediately after. Again because of the cigarettes. I can truly enjoy social situations and be the life and soul of a gathering, as long as I can smoke. Some people struggle with being alone, not me. I have no problem going to the cinema alone, having a meal alone or attending gym classes alone. Again as long as there's cigarettes around. I have struggled with depression, social anxieties and bullying. Overcome it without medication. Just right mental attitude, perseverance and cigarettes!!! I have tried quitting before but the anxiety was crippling. I hated being around others! Couldn't stand being on my own skin! So fidgety and miserable. Depressions hit me like a ton of bricks! Nothing was joyful any more! I went crawling back to my poison sticks. It's way less scarier than depressions. Recently I have been so unhappy about smoking. It robs me of health, time and money! I hate to acknowledge am an addict, but I am. My happiness and functionality are conditional?!! My biggest fear are am not gonna be able to cope and I would be miserable 😞 Am past smoking now and worrying about quitting later! As smoking affects my physical performance in sports. I can't thoroughly enjoy and give it my best, as a smoker! I hate that I can't keep my promise to quit. Am losing my self respect, as I can't keep this promise to myself!! Watching Diane journey today, inspired me. Maybe we are not exactly the same. But we both are strong willed woman with healthy life style/smoker (not Diane, she escaped 💪). I'll keep this story in mind, when I quit smoking. I can stick it out for 6 months and if there's no light at the end of the tunnel. I can go back and smoke. During those months, I'll gain self respect, better lung capacity, better skin, better health and tons of money. Not a bad deal. Just one craving at a time! Thanks again. Sorry about the blog😅 Hope Diane going from strength to strength and remain an accomplished none smoker🎉🎉

Thank you Diane and Nasia. OK. You two have been reading my personal, secret mental mail! :-) Issue after issue you brought up, exposed and covered. Depression, rejecting advice or help, mulling over my failed attempts to quit...Fear...loneliness...all of it. Amazing how much Diane and myself have in common in our struggle! Goes to the fact that none of us are alone. We can't blame others for our inaction. If someone doesn't care enough to empathize or help...so be it. I've got the knowledge (logic)...I've got the emotional weight and incentive to make and keep the change.

This was a very inspirational message & just the right amount of hope & encouragement I needed. I find I keep having spouts of doubt but both you Diana’s & Nasia I loved how I was able to gain such great inspiration from 2 amazingly strong women that show anything is possible IF I have the right mind set, put the work into it & remember today to be gentle with myself. I really just love how you shared you took back control of your mind & you didn’t let the craving mind continue to run rampant. I think that’s where I’ve struggled a bit with and let my mind go wander. I’m making up my Coping List now & got quite a few ideas f

Some of the things you can't believe you did to continue smoking...when sick hitting the inhaler so you could smoke...smoking a cigarette after getting tooth pulled by holding lips around it because you're all numbed up...also enduring extremely hot or cold temperatures to have that smoke. And I could have bought a nice new Sportscar with the money wasted up in smoke 😢

OH boy I do remember this. I had BREATH, talk a walk (even while I was working, I paced) I did take 5-HTP and Ashawagandha root as well as NAC I drink a lot of tea both hot and cold. I exercise a lot!! I eat very health and I sleep 7-9 hrs every night. I do not drink a lot of alcohol I do splurge on dark chocolate (small amounts) I also allowed my self to grieve the loss of what i counted on to be my best friend... I dont need it any more!! It gets easier ..I promise !!

I tried not to lie it is hard and I struggled too (at first) I just would not let my mental state (my brain) give in. I just decided "I am not going to do it anymore" I had to learn to deal with stress/sadness and being overwhelmed. EXERCISE (walk, run, walk more, do YOU tube videos) talk to a counselor, talk to a friend, a mentor, find a hobby, or if you are me WORK WORK some more and then go back to WORK :) :) I tend to turn to WORK when I am stressed (could be worse) SLEEP (take melatonin, ashawagandha root, warm lemon water, black pepper /turmeric !! OR whatever works that will not be a negative habit :)
