The background noise is awful, and very poor sound quality. Been so for a while. Please do something, as it reduces the overall quality of the podcast.
Absolutely depressing George. Eng were as usual good but even they know without beating Ind n Aus in their home Eng can't thump their chests. Test cricket without Ind, Aus n Eng is dieing very slow death. The standards are declining of other teams. Should be alarming for ICC
That Ben stokes inning was depressing to watch despite it being action packed. It should never be that easy in the 4th inning. Hope the English media doesn't start claiming that the English team is somehow saving test cricket.
Lol, BCCI saving test cricket? What planet are you on? Only place where test cricket is in decent positions is in the big three nation. Just because BCCi provides the biggest coffees doesn't mean it's the saviour lol.
@@11hitmanDagenius England does play a lot of tests but the team actively seems to not want to participate in the World Test Championship. BCCI does ok with it's test series, it can be better but it's ok. The issue is that other than the big 3 no one seems to want play tests due to leagues being lucrative. One of the reasons BCCI does not allow Indian players to play other T20 Leagues iz because they do not want young players to stop playing the domestic test championship (Ranji Trophy). Sadly for the rest to get better they need to play more but it will need for the other teams to play more tests...but if thry do not play more they get worse. It is a sad vicious cycle...personally I am not sure else can be done.
We're flat track bullies. Failed to win the Ashes at home and took a 4-1 thrashing in India. Ultimately it's the results against the big two sides that Bazball will be judged on.
Both them teams never beat England in England. Aus since 2001 and India one in 9 so where is the evidence for the above. Nasser did a great price barely anyone wins away from home anymore
@@michaelmulhall5007 Home advantage is massive, yet Bazball still couldn't win the Ashes. India and Australia have much better recent records in England than we do in those countries.
Good insightful conversation. Wish more was done to help cricket beyond the big 3. For starters, it's in England's interest to develop cricket across Europe
well to play devils advocate here re the question on was it depressing the fourth innings I think the point is you want to see competive test match cricket not one team having it all thier own way regardless of who you support 🤔 it was entertaining too watch granted the funny thing is the windies got themselves in to some great positions in this test match and the previous one at trent bridge but could not back it up consistently really like when england were 54-5 first innings🤣 however even tho I am english it is a bit rich to be too critical of them given the fact that results in test cricket had really tailed off recently for england against far better opponents than the west indies🤔
No it was grim stuff, Windies were competitive for one day in the second test and for the opening few overs of England's first innings in this match it's very sad. The only competitive series' that India, Australia and England are going to be involved in will be against each other the gap is becoming too large.
Where Bonner is is certainly a question. What's the story? What about Mayers also? Understand that Chanderpaul is out of form but surely he should have been in the squad, giving them an alternative to McKenzie.
West Indies can’t compete anymore unfortunately, commentators always talking about World Cricket helping them reach a competitive level. I honestly think the problems are with there internal organisation. No amount of money will help. 🏏
