This information is so vital to our future. I don't understand why more people aren't subscribed. Maybe that's how Jesus felt? Sending virtual Granny hug's and prayers to everyone ☺️💕

Many more people are ”subcribers" than you might realize. AEA's podcast is the most listened in the science and biology category

He is Jhon😎. Legend in Agriculture. He is the person wo is doing better work than Elon Musk. Elon is planning to go to Mars for climate change. Jhon is trying to fix the climate change here only.

Around the 19:53 mark what does John say about grass root exudates vs forbs? “they don’t preserve (something) like grasses do”
@projectmalus
@projectmalus 15 дней назад
I'm pretty sure I heard him say the grasses keep the root exudates more local while the forbs spread it out. I think this might have to do with the grasses being more bacterial and not so much fungal with their association, might have to do with it.

In case you use these comments for future ask me anything: Can you imagine a path to scale these plant nutritional and regenerative practices so that they reach into the realm of suburban backyards rather than just on the farm?

Is there any living plants cercaties don't eat?

Cicadas only feed and lay eggs on woody species
@projectmalus

Forbs eh? Makes me feel better about all the goldenrod and fireweed around, besides them being kind of beautiful. Thanks. But if the grass aligns more with the bacterial than the fungal which thus spreads out the exudates less than the forbs, I've heard that brassicas (like tillage radish) also are bacterially orientated, so what does this leave for cover crop seed you can buy, that are forbs? Marigolds, also Richter's herbs sells goldenrod and fireweed, etc. Assuming that legumes are also more local with the exudates, for same reason, if that reason is correct. edit: buckwheat is a forb.

Start harvesting local forbes seeds from wild areas near your plantings. Let the weeds grow if it's not all grass and supplement with forbes seed. Make a mix of all your old vegetables seeds broadcast and rake it in ; then let it grow with what ever weeds come up. A really diverse mix of purchased vegetables and flower seeds could have easily 50 species. Don't forget to treat the seeds with biocoat gold and then feed the plants foliarly to increase photosynthesis and their effective soil biology building effort.

@@danlefever6254 thanks! Finally, a role for parsnip in my life :) I've a few flowering and they sure do throw out the seed and get those tap roots down.

What are forbs u discuss about ?? Are they any crops ?
@danlefever6254
@danlefever6254 12 дней назад
Any broad leaf plant that generally isn't woody or a grass could be considered as forbs.

How do you get rid of snake weed? Snake weed loves low wet areas.

Maybe try broadcasting seed of native plants that grow faster than snakeweed?
