The total cost is $1500 (not $750) plus. The selfish one is the bride planning a destination wedding EXPECTING “guests” to offset the cost & not respecting her cousin’s budget is selfish. Cousin communicated her budget & somehow she’s the bad guy?

I feel like I’m in crazy town listening to the last caller lol. Spending $1500+ to attend someone’s wedding is A LOT of money for some of us. And if the cousin says she can’t afford it, it’s no one else’s business to speculate if she’s telling the truth or not. Wild lol

I saw both sides of it. but I was baffled when Nick said-we understood a destination wedding wasn't feasible for everybody, we didn't take it personally, we moved on, understanding some people wouldn't be there. BUT WE ALSO TOOK MENTAL NOTES ON WHO WAS AND WASN'T THERE. .... ?????

Am I the only one who thinks $1500 is a lot to spend on another person’s wedding? I know it’s nothing for Nick, but for us normal people, it’s a lot of extra money. If her cousin’s fiancé has the financial means to pay for her ring, it doesn’t mean they share finances. They also have their own wedding coming up and weddings aren’t cheap. For a person who preaches about boundaries , I don’t feel like you’re seeing the cousin’s boundary of spending no more than $750
@brightsidegirl
@brightsidegirl 21 день назад
It's outrageous and these weddings are outta control. I spent so much money on being in weddings when I was younger and I honestly regret most of them or not setting boundaries because I'm not even friends with these people now. I spent $350 on a bridesmaid dress when I was 22 and barely making that a paycheck. I had no business doing that but at the time you just do whatever the bride wants. Definitely learned better.

You claim the $750 isn't a lot of money, so why can't the bride just pay it if it's just pocket change. Y'all are out of touch with the average person. People are so narcissistic when it comes to their wedding. Gee whiz
@Ryanh1010

Yall need to learn math. For the last caller it wasnt spending $750, it was spending $1500. She has her own wedding to plan. She also didnt buy her own ring. Is it her fault if her fiance spent more than they wanted? Why is it selfish for someone to splurge on themselves. Yall chose to do the destination wedding. The caller acting like she was some savior by saying oh i told them i dont need a bachelorette party 😂😂😂😂

The take on the last caller is so shocking to me…I don’t think she should be paying for her cousin to come to her wedding but I also don’t think it’s a crime for her to not want to spend over $1000 to go to a destination wedding that she’s essentially being asked to work when she’s engaged and probably budgeting for her own wedding

Nick was a bit out of touch today. First telling the first caller to just not sell her house and to just buy a new mattress instead of moving her old one, then acting like $750 (extra) isn’t a lot to spend for a wedding. Doesn’t make me feel great to listen to

You are so out of line talking about the $750. It's no one's business on what cousin spends her money on. Destination weddings, especially to another country, is just obnoxious. Elope and have a party when you get back. But don't try and tell me how I should spend my money. Bad call Nick.
@user-pm1td9vw8x
@user-pm1td9vw8x 25 дней назад
Wow a little harsh on the last person’s cousin? It’s not $750, it’s $750 extra what she was already planning on spending. Double her budget, and is a lot of money for a lot of people. Not to mention she probably didn’t buy her own engagement ring and it’s likely she and her partner don’t share money…it’s not a good idea to assume we know people’s financial situations. She is also planning her own wedding and could be bummed about taking a forced vacation without her partner while having to do work. I get it I just had a destination wedding but I promise you will be happier if you don’t let this upset you. Take her at her word and either give her the money or don’t. It’s important to remember that while your wedding is the center of your world while you’re planning it, it isn’t the most important thing to others even if they are super happy for you.

Exactly when we got married, WE had to PAY the officiator . It doesn’t matter if it’s your cousin or not they need to be paid. She is asking the officiator to pay her. I would have paid my cousin ALL the expenses and for her to say that her cousin was flaunting money maybe she did it on purpose?😊
@Brandimom

Nick we get it $750 is Pennys to you. $750 in this economy is a lot to us normal people with 9-5 jobs to spend to travel to someone ELSES wedding! Sorry but I couldn’t swing it either. That $750 can be spent on my own expenses. Esp since the cousin has her own wedding coming up.

Nick seems a little out of touch with caller 1. Nick is married to a girl who gave up all her independence to be with him, so he thinks that’s normal. Most women are terrified to give up their independence for a man these days & having property is one of the most powerful ways to have independence. But according to Nick, she should just sell it/rent out and get over it

It doesn’t matter what her perception of her cousin’s financial situation is. Bottom line is if you have a destination wedding, you must be prepared for people not to be able to come, no matter who it is. If she wants her there, she can pay for it.

@biancaopala99

Im sorry even 750 is a lot to spend on someone's wedding and I'm guessing that doesn't include gift? At the end of the day it's someone else's wedding with their friends and family...not a vacation they would normally spend money on. She can do what she wants with her earned money and has her own wedding to pay for too. I feel if it's that important for the cousin to be at the wedding the caller should help supplement the difference. But I'm sure the caller partly wants to feel reassured by her cousin that she matters and it's strictly a money thing

Just because someone does not talk about money struggles does not mean they don't have them. To say it is not life changing money is bold as that could be all they have in their account and needs to go to other bills/expenses not blow on a trip/wedding.

Not American but I looked up the median incomes weekly is $1,136 in the US and 50% of millennials had 0-$10,000 saved. So i imagine $1.5k would be about maybe 15% of her savings if she was the average American with 10k saved not including having to also spend for her own wedding. The average American wedding is $35,000. It's bit harsh for Nick to keep say she would spend frivolously on clothes for $750.
