Welcome back to another episode of The Viall Files: Ask Nick Edition! Before we get to our callers, we play a new game of ‘Guess Who’ where Nick guesses which Household Member did what…
Our first caller is a soon-to-be bride, and her bridesmaids don't want to stay for the whole bachelorette party. She participated in all of their weddings, and wants to nicely encourage them to do the same in return. Our second caller has ‘unwanted’ roommates who have s*x with the door open. She’s not very good at confrontation and is wondering if this is worth pressing. Our final caller has been on 10 dates with a guy who doesn't want to touch her. He’s ready to “send it,” but now she’s cringing. Is she wrong for wanting to move on?

If have to beg someone to show up for me then don’t bother showing up at all. It’s sad but they just showed their priorities. I’d rather have a good time with those who actually care & want to put in the effort! Best of luck Jesse and I hope you find those who celebrate you the same way you would them!

Also some situations make sense - having to work, having a baby etc. and there are many other ways to celebrate someone! But the caller didn’t indicate that these friends really cared hence my comment.

Jessi, I am willing to bet it has something to do with your mom and stepmom being there. Even though they might be the chillest, coolest parents, your friends may not want to spend money and take time away from their families if they don’t feel like it will be a truly relaxing time where they can let loose. With that said, I hope you can find friends that will be up front and honest with you and prioritize you as much as you do them. You sound like an amazing person and congrats on your upcoming wedding! 🩶

I have to agree. I would personally not want to spend the time and money on a four day trip unless it’s a legitimate girls getaway. If mom and step mom are there it’s more of a formal, family affair - probably less sitting around drinking and having girl talk and more planned outings that cost money. Plus feeling like you have to be on good behavior the whole time. Just very different vibe. I think they made some mistakes in the planning.

I was thinking the same thing that they’d all prefer a bachelorette with just the friends and not the parents for the whole weekend. If the moms were coming just 1 night they’d probably all stay at least 2 nights. However, it’s the bride’s choice in who comes and good friends should still show up for her regardless if parents are also there or not.

Three nights for a bachelorette party is a lot to ask of people. I know that this is the time for people to have destination, weddings, destination, bachelor parties, just bachelorette parties, but it’s a lot to ask people! I’m a bit older and not one of my friends had a bachelorette party out of town. There may have been destinations. I think this has to that nice going away for a bachelorette party especially for people with kids. she’s just way too much.

She said multiple times she would have been fine with two nights. But I think it was too much to begin with and too big of an expectation. I would have just made it an overnight trip to start with and there wouldn’t have been disappointment.

I feel bad for the first caller, almost certainty she is a very understanding person who has never pushed back on anything questionable her friends do, so they feel comfortable bailing because they know she won’t say anything.

Just for some context. As an Oregonian, Bend, Oregon is a VERY popular choice for those here who don’t want to spend a ton of money on a bachelorette trip. That is very commonly known here. So I 100% feel for “Jesse”.

Disagree with Nick office one. They should let that big Airbnb get a smaller house for two nights and when those women show up for one night they should be told a few days before bring a mattress to sleep on we had to go down to a smaller house because so many people canceled, but can’t wait to see y’all :-)

To the bachelorette party caller…it’s unfortunate that plans changed but I don’t think it’s unreasonable for your invitees to only want to do one night. The party is not more important than some of the reasons you stated they gave you. Personally, I think it’s self- centered and wildly crazy to expect people to give 3 nights to this. I obviously don’t agree with Nick’s take. (I always agree, so that’s unusual). I would never guilt people over this. Omg Nick, no.

Probably the only one to notice or be a smidge bit worried about but does the rug/blanket in their room bug anyone else? I just see someone tripping over the folds of the mat. Love the look just needs to be straightened out.

The roommates doing the dirty with the door open happened to me years ago all the time and my bf came over and threw a stink bomb in the room.. it worked 😂 the funniest thing was all we heard was “did you fart?!” And the dude said “sorry” until they realized 😂😂

I can completely relate to the caller with the bachelorette. I had a local get together (30 minutes from home). One of my bridesmaids who i thought was a good friend barely showed up for dinner one night and sited her son (who has autism) as the reason. I was understanding until she went to an out of town bachelorette shortly after without her son. She also never bought her bridesmaid dress which was very reasonably priced. I ended up buying it the week of the wedding on rush. I distanced myself from her afterward for a few years but we stayed friendly and now shes having an out of town bachelorette and ive agreed to go... should be interesting

Don’t fully agree with the advice on the shy guy caller. I’ve been on this road before and unfortunately in my experience, it usually just means the guy is not that into you - likes you enough to keep dating you and keeping you at the back burner, but not enough to commit and move further with the relationship. Guys like this are afraid that if they took the relationship to the physical level, they might end up being a bad guy and you will end up more upset with him if you were already intimate, once he changes his mind. This is why he is “moving things slowly”, but telling you he is fine with you making the first moves - he feels he will be in the clear if you do that yourself.

I really can't relate to this wedding stuff. What a joke. There is no reason why people need to go away for 2-3 days with others. Try not being able to marry the person you love for 16 years b/c it is illegal. Get over it.

I completely agree. I'm a October bride this year and I would never expect my friends/ bridesmaids to commit to a full Destination weekend. The wedding experiences that are becoming the norm are so ridiculous and over the top!!!

What unhappy grumpy people you two are. She is entitled to be disappointed for whatever reason. She gave them a ton of time to say no and they bailed out of the blue. Just because you’re upset with your situation doesn’t give you the right to belittle her problems.

I just think that they are still two months out from her event and three nights away is a LOT to expect, especially for people in their early 20s. She's entitled to be upset but they are also entitled to say no, and that doesn't make them bad friends.
