Swami Ji.. it's always great to hear the divine speech from you. When we say there is lot of suffering and then we say we are a form of Oneness of Thee, out of contrast I would say we ourselves create and destroy it through this human body. Sairam Swami Sarvapriyananda ji May I share with gratitude the wonderful result of detachment experienced even after being aware of the political turmoil going on here in the US and all kinds of predictions which were made centuries back about it. The feeling that it is all being experienced in the mind and indeed I am not the mind but the Witness Consciousness in which itself the mind is being experienced by the Sakshi Self was out of this world of an experience. It instantly brought complete peace inside removing any fear or restlessness.That was the most positive experience of detachment experienced in this five months of working with Advaita Vedanta philosophy and making every effort to put it in practice. Here is a beautiful quote on Vedanta from Sri Sathya Sai Baba for every one to enjoy... Om SaiRamMan is saved by Vedanta, which is like the roar of the lion; it gives courage and enterprise; it makes one a hero. It does not whine or howl or cry. It instils the highest types of self-confidence. It is the strongest armour against the arrows of fate, a waterproof against the hailstorms of sensual pleasure. It is a curtain keeping out the mosquitoes of worry, which would otherwise rob you of sleep. With a Vedanta-saturated heart, you are a rock on the shore, unaffected by the waves of temptation. Vedanta challenges your spirit of adventure, your own reality. Board the train of spiritual discipline now and you will reach the terminus which is jnana (absolute knowledge of you and of all this). In a train journey you do not get down in the middle when some station attracts you. So too, in the spiritual journey the stations are karma (action), upasana (contemplation), and so on. You have to pass through them, but remember they are not the terminus. The terminus is Realisation.- Divine Discourse, Feb 3, 1964.

Sairam Swami Sarvapriyananda ji. Just BE.This has been a question on my mind for a long time. What does it mean to just BE. Should I clear my mind of any thoughts and stay still. How long? It does not seem to be practical. The answer came this morning in my short meditation. It was, just BE a witness to the mind and body complex. Just be aware of your self as the Sakshi Self witnessing the body mind complex without being entangled with it in any way. The Awareness of the Sakshi Self, the Witness Consciousness I AM amounts to or leads to just BE. Seems to make sense to me.Swami ji some times when you check for more questions would you please enlighten us on this command "Just BE" with Infinite Love and Gratitude. Saiasha.

I see your question is asked to swamiji, but I'll share my 2 cents on it. In a dream your dream characters are experienced and they too do experience, but aren't they just your mind? So your mind is experiencing something that has a dependant existence and it depends on the same mind... it is it actually. Swamiji has some incredible talks in an ongoing course on the Mandukya - on SoundCloud. I recommend it a lot!

Hi Venkatesha. Self realisation is the direct experiential knowing that you are Infinite unchanging awareness (Supreme, God, Self, Consciousness). In other words: If I ask you if you are aware, you say yes. Right? That awareness with which you know the world, thought, feeling and the fact that you are aware is not a personal awareness, it is the One Infinite unchanging awareness. Swami Sarvapriyananda is discussing how to reach self realisation via Advaita Vedanta. A very powerful and successful path. Self realisation gives you peace, happiness, harmony, wisdom, and freedom from psychological suffering. Regards.

Vanakkam Swamiji, with regards to the 1st question of why suffering, you have said the only way to transcend suffering is to realise our true self which still doesn't answer the actual question of 'WHY' suffering in the first place. If not Karma then what would explain this 'Why'? I still feel you haven't satisfactorily answered this question and is it possible to be forgiven to think that there is NO God till such a fundamental question of suffering gets answered because this question's importance supercedes all philosophical questions, in my opinion. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Ramakrishna's Cancer example is abt for a grown up human being, but what would explain the suffering of animals inflicted by other animals? Animals getting killed by humans for greed and pleasure? Kids being ravaged by humans and disease? Families dying in an accident on way to place of worship? What can explain all this? How can enlightenment be a solution for all this?

I guess the reason of suffering is to experience. It's like a film maker makes both tragedy and comedy. Maybe a complete soul needs to experience both side.

I have a question. . please read my question .. I see videos on Swami Vivekananda(HE says about POWER of MIND,MIND is all powerful,concentration,PURITY of mind etc) and Sri Ramkrishna.. (Sri Ramkrishna says about pure devotion,purest love).. I can understand both is same .Ramkrishna has said for the leyman to understand and Swami Vivekananda has directly hit the key points. But my question is .. I am preparing for a competitive exam ,there is History(ancient,medieval,modern)subject,my history teacher told me that ... right from the stone age everything is based on economy .. when people were hunter gatherer economy was simple,no kings no division of class as no possesion of land,only they need cattle for that day and their job is done..,and the nature which stops them is storn,thunder.. so at that time it has became their GOD,people from that time understood that they should pray to those,with whom he cannot compete,then after discovery of iron,agriculture started,it means possesion of land,means division of class,at that time most of the time was needed to cultivate,didnot had much time to enjoy so they declared GOD is one,there is only one GOD,previously there was many GODs as people has time to enjoy the nature.. what is your opinion on this?

I like that you asked such a question. Actually what your history teacher has said is partly correct since most human beings have to common basic psychology of imagining things out of proportion without actually experiencing it. It happens till now. But, Vedic Rishis studied the different states and levels of human conciousness most of which were beyond the normal human subconscious minds which tries to imagine things for it's own satisfaction. Secondly, people today think evolution means biological evolution, they have left out the possibility that ths human consciousness can too evolve with newer dimensions to the mind. But these are revealed to those who go deep inside themselves. Imagination is mostly done by the vital part of our being, but their are other parts of our being which has got much better powers and extended reach on space and time. And the gods and goddesses mentioned in the Vedas are totally different from what people worship now. Most of them don't even know their names, and again the definition of devatas were different in the vedic age.

Urmila Gunin "buddi anusare karma" - once intelligence works as per his karma. let him take his time to explore the world. Vedanta is for those who think there is some think wrong with this world and sense pleasure. one or the other way everyone has to come to this path. for time being explain him these things but let him take up things at his own pace. 🙂

swamiji, problems are social in nature but the solution proposed by Indian teligious thought is always personal or individual . so the onus of solution falls on the person himself.This leads to escapement. This is the problem of indian thought.

I don’t agree with your answer… the question precedes self realisation. Your 23 answers still don’t answer the question. There is suffering only because of Karma and even Brahman isn’t immune to karma.

There is a contradiction at 25.01. If u really feel that there is infinite inside me than u should not pray and vice versa. When u your self say that i am infinite or i am a part of infinite than who will not assume oneself a infinite and once i felt that i am infinite i can do anything. yes anything. I think this is illogical because it makes people confuse about other and anyone can cheat other, because its a imaginary concept of becoming pious. I think this is the reason every 5 to 10 year we get a big scandal of so called self realised person.

Please do not misguide people by saying "you are god I am god".. god does not get oldage diseases all stupid death... he is sacchitananda vigraha.. nava yavanamcha (always young).. we are small jivas and got attacted to the material nature and doing karma and this actions and reactions are going on.. and considering this we are the body . Krishna says in bagavathgeetha this world is not mitya he says it is temporary..(Asasvatham)..also he said when you do karma according to my directions you wont bind in this world bcos he is out of three gunas.. also Krishna says "fools consider me as ordinary human when I descend to material world, but they cannot know that I am divine always" but the living entity is covered by maya not me (Krishna says)..avajanathi maam mudha maanushin tanum asshritam..we are eternal servants of the lord and when we again reconnect with that supreme person (mattah parataram nanyat -Krishna says there is no truth superior to me.). then he goes back to spiritual world..

Consciousness also do not get diseases and death. You become servant of Krishna, he is not interested. If you have to go to spiritual world then why are you living for and alive?
