Are you kidding me? This trend has been around when I was a kid. Kids wore socks and sandals all the time. So did grownups. NFL did not invent this. Give credit where it is due. Regular people and street fashion.

Not a new trend. It's been around since at least the 1970's when I was coming up. However, at that time, the socks w/sandals combo was pretty much a female thing. Most males didn't indulge.

first. know the difference between sandals and shower shoes/ bath shoes. . those are not sandals. made originally by Adidas as a shower shoe or worn to pools.

Because most shoes have zero ventilation and we spend over 8 hours in our work shoes. Ventilation increases healing and relaxation. Wearing socks with sandals is the happy medium preventing your skin from rubbing against that plastic material. Socks are also washed regularly and is more hygienic. How often do you wash your sandals?

This trend started in Ancient Rome, as the legions moved into colder climates like Germania it was essential to protect their feet from the elements so they started wearing thick woolen socks under their caligai. Socks and sandals represented Rome’s imperial expansion North.

Unhygienic especially in wet weather. And it looks ridiculous. So unless you are athletes leaving practice who are trying to quell their sore feet from rigorous practice or a drug addict too lazy to get dressed to go to the grocery store, stop with this , no one ones to see or smell your dirty socks.

Personally I would rather look at a clean pair of socks than bare feet unless it's a gorgeous woman than bare feet are a big turn on for me. At the beach or on a fishing trip it is fine. I wear only black socks with my leather sandals so they sort of blend in together. And I never wear white or gray or striped that stick out like a sore thumb that come up just above my ankles. And I don't know why anybody would want to wear socks with flip flops that is just ridiculous I only wear flip flops near water.
