Ask Zajef Standard Banner Edition 

Feel like they should give out more standard banner fates. Nobody is pulling in there with Primos and its not really gonna impact character or weapon banner sales.

I think the standard banner needs an Epitomized path mechanic to allow players to target specific characters/weapons. Give people a reason (outside of the free standard pulls we get) to pull on the standard banner.

It still doesn't sit right with me that standard banner doesn't have a geo 5 star. Even the new child in town dendro had tignari added to SB.

As a long time Diluc main I've always said that his biggest problems boil down to simply having low multipliers. If his E's just fucking hit harder (like Hu Tao CA's as Zajef says) he'd be way better. Obviously there's some stuff like his A1 being shit and his Burst knocking ppl back, but rly he's weak bc fundamentally he doesn't have the motion value to compete with other units, especially other pyro carries like HT or XL

For anyone watching this wondering whether or not Rosaria is worth leveling due to gameplay, I promise it's not even remotely as bad as Zajef made it sound. She's an incredible unit and isn't clunky to play at all.

I've seen many suggest a "buff/fix" to Standard banner would be adding characters with X amount of reruns to be pool and personally...I have issues with that. Like I understand why people think that way (especially when talking about characters like Albedo and Yoimiya) but I feel people undermine the big issue that comes with doing that and still has yet to be addressed: the lack of any guarantee. As we all know SB (standard banner) does not currently have any sort of guarantee or even rate up for any of the items and characters in the pool. And more things they add, the more diluted to pool gets and the harder it gets to pull a specific thing you want (Those you want cons for the starter trio know EXACTLY what I mean). This couldn't be any more true for the the 5 star characters. I seen so many players lamenting about getting multiple cons of characters they DON'T want and not a SINGLE one of the characters they do despite playing for about 2 years. And Tighnari's inclusion only made the pull rates even worse. Speaking of Tighnari, I think he's a perfect example of why I'm very hesitant of the idea. When he got added to SB that pretty much means he's not getting another banner again (unless it's like VERY very rare expections like Keqing's banner in 1.3). So for those missed on his banner or lost 50/50, they're just SOL. Now you have to pray to the merciless RNGsus for him to show up...eventually on your roster (you'd never know). Now try to apply that same thing on characters like Yoimiya and Albedo ON TOP of the more diluted pool. You may as well have sent them to the forgotten void if you're unlucky (exaggeration I know). Tl;Dr: Until something is done about SB to have a better chance of getting characters you want from it (like a rate up or epitomized path), I can't fully agree with this.

For Tighnari I'd always pick the crit f2p bow or the Viridescent Hunt over a bow like Prototype Crescent because of how painful it is to manage crit stats on non crit ascending characters.

Never had interruptions issues with rosaria honestly, In fact, using her E is a good way for me to dodge some attacks, especially with those corrosive goddamn and stinky flea sacks gold made 😂😂

I love Rosaria's gameplay so much! Her E and ult feels so satisfying to me. I'm very surprised Zajef feels so strong about her lmao

Here's a good standard banner change. Seasonal rate ups for characters within the standard banner. So, the standard banner itself gets the rate up Not a separate banner with characters from the standard banner .... if that makes any sense.

one thing i’d add is kaeya’s A4 is better than it sounds-they don’t need to be frozen BY his E (as in, not frozen before) to generate extra particles. as long as they’re frozen at all, he’ll generate an extra particle and another if he hits two enemies. given he normally does 2-3, that becomes 4-5 particles, more if you have favonius. this is especially great for teams where you rly want someone’s burst, like freeze ganyu or ayaka. (zajef mentioned this, but i’m just clarifying the weird wording and also specific use cases. it means you can put less ER on ayaka, for example) his normal and charged attacks can be good in a melt team with kaeya chongyun xiangling bennett, but usually i think it’s more quickswappy, so they don’t get used that much. still, his c1 is there and can benefit in a shenhe team i suppose. there’s also phys carry kaeya that’s definitely decent. also rosaria has the crit rate share, but in freeze teams you’re often overcapping crit anyway, which is why i prefer kaeya there. i like her more in melt teams (or really, both of them together and taking chongyun out)

10:23= skill issue

The biggest thing about the standard banner that would make it better is if they introduced an epitomized path for it. Since that banner is permanent, it wouldn't suffer from the same problem that weapon banners do with the path not carrying over. You could eventually get any five star of your choice from it on f2p fates after months of saving-- which is something that wouldn't break the game or make hoyo lose money at all.

Rosaria is my freeze dps currently (don't use it often but when needed) and I don't think I've ever been staggered during her e cast, I quite like rosaria. Obviously anyone can not like a character for any reason I was just surprised by how much he dislikes her lol

I'd be very surprised if he was indeed interrupted more often when using Rosaria E than when using Klee. I can agree about the problem with the CD starting at the end of the animation so it seems to increase the duration of the CD, but the problem of being interrupted when using E has never happened to me. for me the only downside of Rosadia is just the "circle impact"

Surprised Jean sun fire with Bennett was not mentioned in the Jean vv support section, it allows her to get decent damage swirls and pyro reactions.

Viridescent Hunt is still the coolest weapon in the game... I wonder if we'll ever enter an era where more weapons have utility and generally more unique effects on gameplay. I also love effects on normals/chargeds since it gives us an excuse to use the cool animations in more cases, and then I also love the idea of grouping outside of Anemo cause Anemo is OP without that monopoly, while ones like Jean stand to be included more.

Finally Zajef talks about Tighnari, i've been waiting since 3.0 for this since he never made a character pre-release or analysis on him!

having a wishlist system for the 4-stars would solve the watering-down odds of getting specific 4=stars with the standard banner. You'd select a set number of 4-stars, and every time you manage to draw a 4-star, it would draw from that pool only. This way, it doesn't change the odds of you getting a 4-star, but keeps the rate of which 4-star you get consistent.

I had no idea rosaria's e had no interruption resistance or that it even needed it. Kind of counter intuitive for a backstab type move. I think it works if you e from further away right? What about kaeya's last na teleport behind enemies thing? Ive never experienced it getting interrupted so does it habe interuption resistance or am i just dodging good?

Personally I prefer Jean over Kazuha/Sucrose for one simple reason: I'm a scrub that can't dodge

i use tighnari with 4pc wanderers and polar star. i got polar star specifically for him lmaoo. with this setup, i like to think of him as a jack of all trades with his dmg, cause every part of his kit is getting a boost

Man rosaria is busted in ayaka freeze, her QoL problems are meaningless because everything will be frozen forever regardless and her buffs are a ton of stats. Literally skill issue.

Bubble Qiqi superconduct-taser hybrid helped me fully clear one of my first events that I participated in. Can't remember the name of the event, but it was around the time of the 3rd Childe rerun banner and involved picking out whatever challenges you wanted to use for that event to score points if you could clear with whatever self-imposed challenges you picked. Team I used was Amber, Xinqiu, Qiqi, Beidou. I was probably around AR 35 at the time. Qiqi was my first 5star and was the only one I had during that time.

For Lisa hyperbloom her charge attack can hit seeds easily and in a pretty good radius. (I think it can even get them from a bit behind her back?) Her charge attack is slow though, but this comes handy occasionally.

For your ask zajef #12 consideration: How constellation dependent are most of the broken 4 stars (does xiangling need c4, does sucrose need c1, does beidou need c2) and are they worth using/building without these constellations?

I would argue that a bow like Hamayumi (idk if i spelt it right- the inazuma free craftable bow) is good on Tighnari too. It's free, it allows you to build more EM because it has attack stats so EM would be more useful, you sacrifice crit stats for more consistent damage, and tighnari is all about consistency, especially if you have that monster C1 which is basically 30 free crit value.

Nah gonna disagree on the C6 Lisa point completely. It seems like Zajeff is looking at it from the perspective of the Lisa running support Artifacts and TTDS, so of course C6 Lisa does nothing for her in that regard. However Lisas with C6 who are built for damage can greatly if not massively benefit from C6 because it turns her into an even faster quick swap character. Swap to her, Lantern, Hold E and Bam (I usually hit 60k base without Lantern), move on. As opposed to having to get her stacks up on everyone nearby via Tap E. My personal critique of C6 is that the range of it could be bigger (as big as Hold E's range would be nice).

Keqing was the first 5 star unit i got in the game I left on 2.8 I came back to the game and currently on sumeru and being able to use her again on agravate teams is amazing

Lisa's essentially on-demand electro means that It's a lot easier to swirl electro with Kazuha in Nahida teams.

Ahh yes. I remember practicing dragon strike in my Eula days. Got it a few times but not anywhere near this consistent.

best use of qiqi I've found is with my eula team, her healing means you can tank everything while building eula's burst and with clam set she provides some decent bonus damage that's amped by electrocharge

Actually the first time I heard someone explain how dragonstrike actually works (but again, I never really went to look for it. I only know it exists...) Also didn't know Kaeya was better than Rosaria as freeze support. I only heard ppl talk about Rosaria, but I just adamantly wants to play Kaeya a lot more solely bcs he's a husbando so I never build her. Glad I didn't then...lol

I put Qiqi in teams that has superconduct so she helps out with the 4Clams damage. Maybe she's not that useful for others for Abyss, but IMO she provides comfortable experience when in coop bc she keeps everyone healthy (especially if Kokomi is not available)

Standard banner is so much better done in PGR. You can choose specific characters to pull for.

Something that I want to add about Dragonstrike (I personally don't think dragonstrike can be viable after a lot of time playing it) 1. Dashing uses up your stamina (This hurts your ability to dodge and usually it means diluc just dies to things like Lawachurls and big hits) 2. You have a lot more difficulty gaining energy because your E skill needs to be used when you dragonstrike. This tends to be a huge problem because usually this means you use up the hydro on the enemy and no hydro = no vape AND if you don't use your skill you just don't get crimson witch OR your burst up (it's not very practical). 3. if you do longer combos that do apply hydro, generally you lose the buffs that you get from characters like vv, sucrose em, ttds, kazuha dmg%, etc. EDIT: added point 3

since we are here , ill say it , Burgeon DIluc is actually very good guys . what i tried WG,Gilded,crit/pyro/EM nahida deepwood yelan zhongli. Not only he did his normal damage but he also did 30k burgeons . it seemed to work rly well . try it out!

I use Tighnari with Yae Fischl and DMC, but i have Elegy on fischl, i will try it on him and give fischl idk..stringless or something

for tighnari i use the sumeru craftable bow, its still an atk main stat but it gives em too

I still clear abyss with Diluc because he is much more fun and I like him. I get more satisfaction from playing him than playing any other character. Fun and satisfaction, what more could I ask from a GAME? Play who you like ❤

I think it is time to start getting some resin in the wish system. Imagine getting two Condensed resin or a Fragile resin every 20 or 30 pulls.

20:09 This is what I appreciated most about Warframe when I played it. Every frame is available at all times, either by purchasing it out right or farming their blue prints, materials and then waiting 3+ days for the frame to actually be built. Prime frames, the stronger versions of normal frames, are only available for a certain period of time before returning to "the vault." I wish gacha games did this, but it would be especially useful in Genshin because if the devs knew what characters each player had, they could make more interesting overworld content. There's a reason pressure plates are only found in Liyue, and it's not because it's authentic to the Chinese atmosphere

Seems like the best thing about Hyperbloom teams is they allow you to put any random otherwise crap fourth unit in there and still have it be good. Qiqi, Eula, any unit you like that does auto attacks pretty much.

Just got my c6 kaeya from the shop last month Video right on time

Diluc burst is kinda bad too, long cast and you need to push enemies far away from him to do the full dmg

Haven’t finished the video yet, but I have a couple comments: First of all Viridescent Hunt on Tighnari has drip. And it’s off the charts. Second of all I can’t believe how blind I was to the power of Elegy on Tighnari. Holy fuck. Dropping EM onto both Yae and Fischl is game changing! The fact that Yae gets to double dip makes it that much juicer. But god that means I’m gonna have to grind Deepwood some more to get a crit rate circlet. I’ve been abusing the crit rate from Hunt (and c1) to act like I don’t need a crit rate circlet.

sharpshooter oath is also amazing on tighnari tho.

In my opinion the strongest dendro for Keqing is already here and that's Nahida. You don't even need to worry about dendro app, circle impact, questionable recovery time... JUST tap E and you are done for the 2 next rotations. Of course you will have to time your Ults for Iframes since no healer (unless you run prototype on Nahida).

Literally the point of Diluc’s E is to auto-skill-auto-skill-auto-skill. So he attacks faster than normal claymore users….. I don’t know how that got overlooked

I actually have about 50 standard wishes or so... don't feel like spending that even there...since besides moona and jean, there is not that many things good, and even the weapon's suck when compared to best in slot for most characters

There is a Qiqi team that I have discovered that is pretty good pre-Dendro and post 4hued clam Razor/Yae or Fischl or Raiden/Qiqi/Anemo flex Unfortunately this is a investment heavy team born out of boredom

I do get staggered a lot with Rosaria, it's real, but never considered it a deal breaker for her. It's mostly me entering the fray too rashly and getting lynched as a result. I would probably not fare much better with anybody else.

I thought once about an epithomized path for the standard banner, but I also think it is kind of irrelevant the more you played the game.
