Great interview. You two looked like you were having fun! And those tips would have helped me when I was looking for representation. Juliet looks like a fab agent, and I'm looking forward to The Potion Diaries.

I was just wondering if either of you could answer my 2 questions that I didn't think to ask in time for this video? 1) Should you say in your cover letter why you are submitting to that agent in particular? 2) Should you say what your project was inspired by? Thanks again for posting this video.

Hi there! for 1) I think a little bit of personalization doesn't hurt, especially if you *have* chosen that agent for a reason. Even better if you mention that you've read some of that agent's books ;) and 2) again, I think make sure your query is still short and to the point, but a hint of the inspiration can be good if it's an interesting story. That's probably something for the next stage though - always keep the focus of your query on the book you're actually trying to sell :) If Juliet thinks differently I'm sure she will respond!
