Looks like this is getting recommended, so I just wanted to say hello and welcome if you are new here! This video documents some of the most impactful (and crazy) few weeks of our lives. I really hope you enjoy it and that maybe it inspires you in some way. If you'd like to see more from our journey, you can start from the beginning here: ru-vid.com/group/PLpShiRze6hi_426_gXtK7oXdjqWs9_a1u Thank you!
It got recommended! Amazing idea, amazing video. Truly warms my heart watching a video like this, I'm here for the adventure too now. Best of luck from Kelowna British Columbia
I was staying in an Airbnb and there was someone staying in an RV at the same time as me and just used the kitchen and bathroom. I would have liked to have done the same but in a tent.
You are so young, so beautiful and so brave. thank you for your wonderful video, for your inspiration. Thank you to the generous Canadians who welcomed you. Let's be proud
This one was special. My throat is choked up and I am teary eyed and proud of you both. Percevered, and trusted the kindness of strangers. The scenery and wildlife was amazing as always, but its the people on the way that make it truly remarkable and restore faith in mankind. Thanks for this video! It made my day!
Thank you! It’s wonderful to hear that the video touched you, it was a hugely impactful few weeks for us and I’m so proud to be able to share the generosity we experienced
As a Brit who has now called Canada home for the last 15 years I am so very proud and humbled to be a part of this great nation. Watching strangers offer you their homes to have somewhere safe and warm to sleep really helps one restore their faith in human nature in a time when we all seem so wary of strangers. Wonderful video, I found your channel yesterday and started from the beginning. Can’t wait to follow you on this epic journey. Be safe and thank you to the kind Canadian people who helped you 🇨🇦
This episode made me cry many times..such amazing videography, editing, music and of course the riding. It's so beautiful to see so many people offering you their space, even when they have a lot going on, such as Phil and his blind wife. Such an amazing video I am supporting you guys from Canada!!
I know for myself that if i was in a position to help such a situation for a night to travelers id want them to feel at home and rest up maybe shoot the shit over ahot meal unless they were weird .Cool video cheers from ontario
Sorry about the wait! This one took longer to edit than usual - it was a crazy few weeks and I wanted to make sure that the video did it justice. And as you all know, we are cycling right now so finding the time to edit can be tricky! (Currently posting this from the middle of the Nevada desert). If you’d like to get more recent updates check out our instagram pages @gregmccahon & @victoriacediyo (linked in the description) And also if you feel like supporting our journey, please check out the patreon! patreon.com/gregmc Thank you all for your patience and I hope you enjoy the video :)
Wow Greg & Victoria ..the extra time in the editing is noticeable, great job (they’re all great), well worth the wait. Restoring faith in humanity with this episode. Best wishes ✌️
I heard it from elders that some 80 years ago people used to travel long distances mainly on foot and it was custom to ask completely strangers to let the travellers stay for a night. You guys are bringing back the good old custom back. Well done.
So beautiful seeing the kindness of strangers to help out people in need. Your videos have just the right vibe and mix of scenic shots, interactions with people and things you come across and the updates of where you're at. It's just brilliantly balanced and engaging all the way through consistently through all of your videos. The only problem is it makes the wait for my travels even harder! Wishing you all the best and can't wait to see more!
What a pleasant surprise it was to come across your tour footage. Thank you for giving me faith in Canadians again. Its been a rough few years and we have treated each other poorly.
There's so much manufactured drama on RU-vid that just pales when compared to this. What a great adventure. Good for you for not bailing, and especially good for all of the kind people who took you in.
Your videos are getting more & more wonderful, Greg. This was the best yet! And it SO warmed our hearts to see all the caring and hospitality our fellow British Columbians offered to you both. We're proud to see such kindness from our fellow Canucks (but not surprised). We'll be heading north from Phoenix to Las Vegas, then to Reno, NV in about a week, and are hoping we might finally be lucky enough to cross paths with you, since we missed you when you were in Hope. Safe travels to you and Victoria.
Thanks guys! Much appreciated, I thought you would enjoy this one - canadian hospitality at its best. That sounds promising!! Keep an eye on the tracker and feel free to hunt us down, we would love to meet you guys. In around 1 week we’ll be in Tonopah for a couple of nights, and then heading on to death valley
@@GregMcCahon We checked the tracker and we are indeed heading toward each other. We’re near Tonopah now, and heading past Las Vegas this coming Tuesday-ish. We’ll watch the tracker and send you a DM if/when it looks like we can rendezvous. 🤞
@@GregMcCahon Just realized you meant Tonopah NV and we’re near Tonopah AZ! 😂 We’ll keep in touch. We’re planning to spend a few nights next week on Bonnie Claire dry lake bed. Very cool entrance to Death Valley.
Canadian people showing their awesomeness quite honestly one of the finest examples of human kindness was incredibly uplifting to watch and truly changed my perspective on how to be as a human to the rest of us. Empathy is our most valuable quality it leads to kindness and generosity let’s not lose it.
This has been my favourite vid so far. Those Canadians eh. I'm not surprised they were so accomadating. Bliss coffee, that made me laugh. Loving this journey you're taking us on, Greg.
When you think kindness has gone out the window… very refreshing to see there are wonderful people out there 😊 Love your videos. Thanks for sharing your amazing journey.
I am proud to say I am a Canadian. This really touched my heart on how complete strangers opened their doors to strangers And gave them a safe warm place to sleep. Even after everything we have been through with covid there was no hesitation to help these two young people. I am a new subscriber and will definitely be watching you both on your journey 🇨🇦🍁
How amazing!!! What a great story! A proof that humanity can still be found 🙏. Beautiful people doing beautiful things! You guys are great. Stay safe! I cannot wait for the next episode! 👏
Amazing humans. No clue if your path will bring you through Texas - but if it does - we would love to host y'all and make sure you set off well rested, well fed, and well equipped! Your videos are likely some of the best in the bike packing community and I thank you for encouraging adventure and human connection!
What an amazing episode. The kindness of strangers is always overwhelming, especially when it is offered when least expected. I rode across Canada last summer and experienced a lot of the same. And also stayed with Nat and his family. They're wonderful.
Ah thats amazing! Must have been an incredible ride. Nat was very awesome. They had friends over at the time so we didn’t get to meet the whole family, but were so grateful that he let us stay at the bookstore, it was a very cool experience!
Hi! I’m Canadian and have been living in Ecuador for 34 years! I clicked on your story because I was interested if the Canadians would help you, and they did! So nice to hear. I’ve lived all over British Colombia most of my life and it gets very cold,I admire the two of you. Brings lots of memories, we lived on my Dads boat for years until the town of Kitimat , B.C. started to be built. Helping others in need as you received it is an Ecuadorian culture, not a Canadian one! But glad the generosity of the Canadians worked out for you!
So awesome to see the kindness of the people you meet ❤ As a swede I can confirm that -19 is a temperature you don’t want to be outside for for long periods without appropriate gear. Good luck on the rest of your journey! I’ve been inspired 🙏
All the people helping you along the way, all the kindness, makes me cry , a happy cry, and Phil at Spence’s Bridge, offering you his trailer, just so kind and wonderful of him. Always safe riding.Take care
Great video. With all the division in the world, it's nice to be reminded that people are good. Now, to go back and start at the beginning over your adventure.
Hi, I am from the other side of the world in Malaysia. Never been to the other side, but watching this really pushed my hope for humanity. There are nice people in every part of the world. We should all be thankful for that. Thank you for sharing your journey.
You too are just amazing and brave. For the people who offered you a warm place to stay overnight, that is a true definition of humanity. I have spent 4.5yrs in Canada moved from California for school , I have seen Canadians are nice people.
I bawled at how kind my Canadian friends have been to you. In British Co,Umbria I met three tourists on the beach and asked them for dinner at our home and we have been friends and in touch ever since… for 30 years! And infact, they have returned to our place on holidays and we treasure their friendship. Bless you on your journey and meeting friendly Canadians!! ❤️🥰🇨🇦
This is my first video of yours I've seen - wow!! All of those people who helped you are amazing - Linda & Gary!! In fact, honestly, I could just name check all of you. What fantastic people and what stunning countryside. It's the kind of rural hospitality that you hope hasn't died - when, in fact, it is in the DNA of BC. Hugs to you folks from Scotland!!
Kudos to you and the incredible warmth and generosity of the Canadians you met on the way. There are great people in this world and you sure as hell find a lot of them when you are on a bike. JP
Dang, such a powerful testimony to the good and generosity of other people! seems like such a crazy and scary human experiment to rely on the hospitality of others to survive! Keep up the fab storytelling! Continually love how simple and OG these vlogs are, keep it up!
So amazing to see the hospitality you received. I think cyclists and hikers receive bonus empathy since everyone can sympathize. After all, doesn‘t everyone dream of being courageous and adventurous like you are… All the best from snowy Bavaria. Love your videos.
I am SOOO HAPPY you met all theses great and generous people on your way ! THANK YOU to all of them ! You 2 are sooooo courageous to travel so much on bicycles through the tough conditions !!! You can be VERY PROUD !!!
The kindness of strangers in this world = makes me smile (for you). I've experienced the same in my bicycle travels over the decades. One day my goal is to have a place along a major hiking or cycling route and payback to other strangers the same hospitality I received in my own journeys. I look forward to more of your story.
All the amazing people that you both met in this episode really do Canadians proud! Kindness to strangers in times of need. That's what makes this world a beautiful place! Best of luck to you both on the journey ahead!❤❤❤
Wow! I don't even know what to say. I had to watch it twice just to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing. You both are tough, resilient, resourceful, and just downright amazing. That was incredible. And you both appeared to be so calm about it all. You told the story very well. I sat here and just shook my head at times. And you should be very proud of this video. I have to say, when Victoria made her announcement to continue on to Argentina, I got a little watery-eyed myself. Congratulations to both of you on this particular part of your journey. Oh, Tumbleweed Motel, that was pretty awesome! Oh, the bear spray, that didn't shoot very far! I was a surprised! Stay safe! (and warm!) ... Ciao
Thanks so much Steve, I really appreciate all the kind words! Looking back on it I think the same thing, I can’t believe we really made it through all that! Haha. Thanks so much for your continued support
@@GregMcCahon You are very welcome! I meant to mention in my original post, the help, support, and generosity you and Victoria received has restored some faith in the human race and there are good people out there willing to help others .... Please stay safe! ... Ciao
As a resident of Burns Lake, BC, longtime cyclist and believer in the kindness of strangers. This warms my heart. Thank you to all the lovely 🇨🇦 that helped you out along the way. We all look forward to your next video and to seeing you celebrate in Argentina. 💞🙏🏼🚵🏽
I’m Canadian living in southern Shikoku, Japan for over 12 years now. I’m planning on moving to Burns Lake, BC in the future. My biggest concern is moving from a subtropical climate to a subarctic one. I hear the people of Burns Lake are very friendly.
it's so great to see the generosity of so many people, they are canadian so it makes sense. the few weeks documented in this video seem very hard and nature has been really hard on you, but after the rain and snow comes the sun so we can hope for better days! really loved this video and im sending you the best wishes and hope you get out of the nevada desert soon!
This is hands down my favourite series on RU-vid. You guys are both so inspirational, and the gorgeous editing makes it 100% worth the wait. Safe travels!
Found another treasure in your video in the form of kindness, our humanity. Living in the city, oftentimes, I get cautious if not afraid of strangers and seeing all these wonderful people offering help and shelter when needed... it was too marvelous to pass up without expressing what I witnessed in your video. Thank you once again for sharing!! That cat fight/play and ice hockey players brawl scene was just on point Greg =)
Can't decide what is more beautiful.... the landscape... or the hospitality of the people... thank you so much for sharing this incredible journey and all you're blessed with along the way! Praise be to our Creator who made this world and puts love in the hearts of people!
Oh my goodness I would have been done as soon as my feet got cold. You guys are awesome!!! There was so many great kind people that you all crossed paths with. I pray you all have a safe wonderful journey.
What an amazing journey. You guys are an incredible power house! Thank you for for such an inspirational video! And Thank you to our Canadian neighbors for there hospitality. God bless you all.❤
WOW ! just found your channel on RU-vid , what an epic journey your on . I'm so glad the kindness of strangers found you and I hope and pray they keep on finding you . All Love from Vancouver Island , BC
The beginning scene if her crying when talking about making her decision to go to Argentina is so beautiful. Being so moved at the trip you two have already completed and probably imagining the amazing things to come is such a rare emotion to capture. I hope everyone gives themselves an opportunity to take a leap of faith, and love it so much that you're going to continue your journey to great lengths.
After all that thanking people for helping 👍 I would like to thank you both for making these videos 👍👍👍👍 And little lady your doing a incredible job, Coz me sitting in a nice warm room 🔥 I’m thinking shit that looks bloody cold 🥶 Little lady you rock 💪💪💪💪 Great video guys, Really really appreciate the hard work you both do Thank you 🤗🤗
Hola muchachos les deseo lo mejor del universo y estoy gratamente encantadisomo de la bondad de los Canadienses y de su gran corazón bendiciones y toda la suerte para ustedes.
Very Iohan inspired with all the animals! It is so nice to see all the people paying you kindness on the road. Hope things are warmer for you as you get south.
From Denmark: Thx for sharing the video. Very courageous and inspiring of/from both of you, indeed. You video gave me a kick in the behind: I am thinking about starting on my yearly 5-6 months tour as far North as I can get in Sweden and was waiting for higher temp (at least 15 degrees C) to start rolling with my Trike Sprint FS + a ZIFLEX mono wheel Trailer. Well I might as well get going. I am only 80 years and still NO EL assist. I recommend you to get a little wood stove and adapt it to the tent. You can even place it outside and get a hot air duct into the tent. Argentina (La Pampa) can be very cold in winter... Keep on biking safely... Kudos to all those friendly people, who sheltered you... Yes, one meets very nice people when travelling by bike/trike....
Been a while since I have seen such a heartwarming video. Wonderful humans, lovely animals and the most amazing views of nature! Glad you made the journey to Hope and to those that helped along the way...thanks for being such wonderful humans❤❤❤
