In this episode, we have a very capable young audience who's sorted out his income at a very young stage. However, as he is moving to the next level which is property investment, there has been 'disagreements' from his in-laws.
Some of the remarks are comes from their love for their own daughter, a little bit might come from ignorance. This is an important message because we investors are the minorities within the society. So once we grasp the concept, we need to protect our mind because the world will always tell us otherwise.

Reminds me of a senior relative we have who has always insisted on the idea that "husbands" must provide a house before marrying the girl. The philosophy, "No home, cannot get married" (Hokkien: Bo chu🏡, buay sai kahwin🤵‍♂👰‍♀). Understandably, that comes from a place of "love, concern, it's for your own good", and most likely more appicable during their times (born in the 50s') when housing supply & demand were way different back then. Still, seeing from a different perspective (as laid out by Sean) which may be more relevant today, it is definitely important to consider diversification as well as achieving equity while optimising the current available resources that we have. Long story short, what's more important would be to make "informed decisions" and knowing what we ourselves are getting into, rather than feeding too much on "here say, there say, he say, she say and they say".

Not sure about others but me as a 26 years old sure got pressured by society standards. Women expect you to be a millionaire, constantly competing with guys older than you, competitions are crazy nowadays

Don't learn to invest, learn to reincarnate to a rich family. Rich kids usually easier to earn more, even earn more also still got parents pay down payment. Better luck next life hahaha

If his salary is 20k, he can easily buy one for investment and one for home to stay. I never believe in renting unless you cannot afford than you rent. The money for rent can better be used for installment.

I have rented for 3 years and planning to rent another location just to feel another place. Rent is 1.2k but if I buy it is 2.2k here in Penang. This not including all other like Indah water, council and service tax. And the price of the condo is only slightly higher. Will still buy one day …
