Luke, In the book of Judges, in the Christian Bible, it explains how the Palestinians (Philistine people) tried to "repel" the invading Jews from Egypt. So, in essence, the Palestinians have had to deal with the invading Jews for over 3,000 years. Where is the sympathy for them? DNA has also proven that the Palestinians have the DNA which makes them both descendants of the early Jews (through intermarriage) and the Canaanites too. That makes the Palestinians Israelites. Just as it is possible for everyone in a territory to have their own religion, it is also possible for everyone in a territory to have their own government. While this has value, if you want the opinions of Palestinians, you need to get on the other side of the apartheid wall and the checkpoints. Ramallah, Bethlehem, Hebron (al-Khalil) or -- if you can get there -- on the other side of the blockade, in Gaza.
Hmm, fascinating! An Israeli (seemingly) not consumed with hatred for Arabs. I (not Jewish) spent more than a year in Israel in the early 70s and loved the country and most of the people I came into contact with, but didn't have any contact at all with the Arabs. I would be very happy if this young man could make at least a little bit of progress when it comes to opening a dialog with Arabs in general. There's even more hatred in the air now than there was back then so this project is more important than ever.
