favorite part about this is that victor is SO nice that he's naturally inclined to say "yes" when asked to fight off a gang of dynamite-loving maniacs, so house HAS to shut him down or risk exposing his presence in goodsprings to the wider wasteland and get victor damaged when nobody else in goodsprings can fix him
@@thesomethingthatisntathing514 ok but i'd like to see you try to drag a securitron all the way out of the strip and get it to goodsprings in one piece WITHOUT arousing suspicion from anyone
Would be a fun detail if you could discover Victor offline right before the fight starts and reactivate him with a high enough science skill so he can rejoin the fight Mr. House might even comment on it later when you meet him, Securitron being compromised isn't exactly new
imagine if the special house interaction was him telling you to go to goodsprings and fix the securitron stationed there "Because of your... interference, my only set of eyes and ears on Goodsprings is in suboptimal condition. Since you're smart and diligent enough to reactivate Victor even though I didn't want him participating in that little shootout of yours, I'm sure you can go back to that ghost town and repair the Securitron there. A fair trade, given that I let him fight with you."
In one of my playthoughs Victor actually showed up at the battle and started throwing out the Powder Gangers with his Grenade Launcher. I almost lost the quest due to Joe Cobb's near-deatg.
Wow, i have hundreds of hours in FNV and ive never evountered this dialogue, it's crazy im still learning new things about this game over 10 years later
I can't believe I've played the game since it came out and NEVER thought of asking Victor for help, just when you think you've seen everything this game has there's one more hidden detail in it
My guess is Mr house overrode him so that victor couldnt be destroyed in the fight so that if the courier died victor could continue and report it back to Mr house so he could find another way to get the chip, but idk
Does Mr House comment on this attempt to get Victor to help when you go to meet with him? Regardless, great video! I didn't even know this was an option
Dang I didn't know about that at all, and my first time playing I even had the Science skill to diagnose him if I were so inclined. Nice little foreshadowing there though.
Restarted FNV yesterday and kicked myself for not knowing I could recruit Victor… until I watched the video to the end. One 40mm grenade from the NE side of the saloon did all the work anyway. Lol
It's also a nod to the true character of House. Behind all the grandstanding of a man with vision is a coward that would gladly let the world burn so what's his doesn't suffer a few scratches.
@@alexanderjmihalich8525That’s giving house way too much credit. Samuel Cooke had that plan cooking long before Courier 6 got a surprise lobotomy for the first time that year.
I've already found this out, I was hoping it was a bug where victor would do something different if everyone was already dead. by the by, its not a ghost town when people are living in it
@@lucutes2936 and that’s really all there is for him, I remember her talking a little bit about his shack and that she was the first person in town so that’s why I suggested that. Thanks for watching!
Why tf didn't they let you use Victor in this quest? He's a literal Securitron, He would have been way more powerful than the townsfolk, Even if you get the armour, And dynamite, As well as help from the others
@@ArwingpilotI imagine he was one conceptually. You got Boon/Cass for NCR, Arcade for followers/enclave, Rex for freeside, ED-E for several, Veronica for Brotherhood, Lily for Jacobstown, Raul for Blackmountain, Ulysses was supposed to be for legion, Benny being spareable makes sense if he was supposed to be a wildcard companion option, so logically Victor would fill the void of House companion. But they probably discarded that idea before it got to coding
