It's not that the machine will be sad, it's that the machine will be pissed off, and when the machine is say, a semi autonomous 100 tonne murder machine, making it angry is generally a bad idea
Pretty much. The prayers, offerings, and ceremonies are akin to any religion. You don't say Zeus is weak because he demands you sacrifice him an ox. Zeus demands an ox every year and the wise know the value of pleasing him as well as the danger of rousing his ire.
Don't worry... I won't talk religion. *One Drink Later* -One day, the crude biomass you call the temple, will wither. And you'll beg my kind to save you... -What the... -...but I am already saved. For the machine, is immortal.
In any other universe the mechanicus would be the horrific antagonist controlling an army of mind controlled slaves (I.e: the borg), but in 40k? They’re on the side of the “good guys” and love tech.

@@bergonath8851 Yeah, I remember a friend I've met a year ago. He was the quintessential edgelord and loves Angron and the World Eaters. After learning about Angron's lore, I'm more convinced he's more of a tragic figure than a one-dimensional mad guy. But so are all the other Primarchs.
You know this is something I always wondered about, I remember a story from the 2nd Armageddon war where a titan pilot is specifically stated as having said goodbye to his wife and family before going off to sacrifice himself to buy time, so the Mechanicus do have families, and practices like marriage. How does that work? Do cogboys ask coggirls out on dates? Is there some kind of arranged marriage? What do these people do to socially interact with each other or even just relax when they're not busy being the Imperium's creepy IT guys?
lore wise most mid-low members of the mechanicus are pretty normal people (for 40k standards) with varying degrees of implants, it's just the high ranking magos that go full mech usually.
@@hiramayala9054 titan pilots are pretty rare humans, the imperium would go out of his way to save one, after all they unite with a mountain church just with their minds
@@queteimporta7262 I know that their few who can pilot the titan what I was trying to say is I believe titan faction fall toward the imperium then the mechanicus and only work with tech priest because their help supply the titans, and so on.
@@hiramayala9054 princepes(titan commanders) and titan crews (assistant pilots) are apart of the mechanicus proper just like the skitarii or any of the specialist branches like biologists. They have the required implants to control the titan together as well as other ones most officers get, like a cybernetic eye arm etc although its more of a status symbol since they dont receive the same amount of implants mostly due to needing to fit within cramped titan control centres (or wear a full body uniform in the case of the assistant crew) However A: they could under the officers/crew uniforms have plenty of cybernetics, just not the most outlandish ones. Infact they most likely do as linking with a titan withers the body very fast over time. And B: after a while a princepes must be turned almost into a servitor. their body unable even with extensive augmentation to survive being the brain of such a powerful machine, they are placed into specialised tanks where their body rots further but their brain and skull remain, so for some titan crewmembers they do the ultimate mechanicus thing and dont just control a titan, but BECOME IT! Litteraly being bound to it as your brain is to you. TLDR: titan crews tend to get less immediatly visable augmentations to fit inside cramped titans, however some become fused into it permanently.

@@algirdas25pl31 Maybe it was unnecessary. But I think it was b/c it was all a relic; the UN and the human way of doing things. The machines were done negotiating with humanity. The ambassador bot was there to ratify the new constitution, or whatever, the last bit of respect for their human creators. It barcode signed the document, it was digitally preserved and the physical copy was as unnecessary as the UN and everything it represents. The human politicians were part of the problem and just had no place in the future. And at the time the machines thought they could give humanity a paradise simulation and the winner writes the history. So I don't think it was for no reason. There was a certain kind of logic to it.
"but bigE, shouldnt we tell them that they are worshiping a cthan you yourself had supposed to imprisoned. That ctan could prove a useful temporary ally against a hive fleet invasion, necrons, chaos. If the enemies of the imperium ever get too strong and try to take terra, unleashing that ctan may be the best option. I wonder if it has respect for the emporer of man considering the void dragon is a more warrior kind of ctan he could restore the emporer back to life so that they can have a rematch and regain its pride
@@timdillon4876 did you _really_ just try to make a case for a vengeful, imprisoned, broken fragment of a star-god that eats souls for breakfast actually being willing to treat its latest captors honorably if it escaped? Lol. Lmao.
@@OneBiasedOpinion all Ctan are different from one another, not much is known about the void dragon especially on why he was just imprisoned after battling the emporer, it would seem at one point the emporer would outright have it destroyed and finished off at some point if he didn't have a plan for it, why risk something that powerful being right next to terra and in the mechanicus's most important world. Void dragon might also have bigger beef with the necron, maybe big E is counting on him or his primarchs whooping its ass again or unleashing it on some huge threat coming to terra to gain an edge in a fight they would lose.
Real talk: there is something about the mixing of humor and testosterone-drenched power fantasy that makes a fucking delightful pairing. Like red wine and rare beef, it's just delicious.
I enjoy how about half of the stuff shown in the background is from the Dark Mechanicum, but people seem to not even notice. Maybe the number of followe- [error] heretics is larger than my calculations predicted.
The line between the admech radicals and the dark mechanicum is such a thin one, one cannot distinguish desperation from depravity in such hopeless times.
Yeah literally the only difference between admech and darkmech is that the latter dabbles in warp magic and thinks that the machine God is a chaos God and let's not talk about heretecks
0:56 Oh, it's Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola. If you want to even talk to her without hearing "[[[Error]]] Damn not found" you better have location of some necron library. tbh i didnt even know that was a woman, or that there were ladies in the Mechanicus. it warms my circiuts that our future treats men and women as equals under the Machine
@@balltoball1 When you’re fighting a war on an unimaginable scale against horrific abominations, you don’t have time to worry about petty shit and need as many warm bodies as you can get.
The AdMech are what happens when you take a bunch of transhumanists, and stick them 40000 years in the future, and give them their own faction and tell them they can do whatever they like to themselves with the old tech they dig up, as long as the Imperium gets an IT department out of the deal.
/\lright I've been wanting to get into reading some 40K books and wasn't sure which factions/story lines/lore to start off with and this video just unironically sealed the deal for me

another hat to throw in the ring, look up Oculus Imperia - he does in lore in an in universe style (so pretends he is someone within the universe - its bloody brilliant. the sheer contempt he has for the nonhuman factions as said character oozes style.) @OMEGA LOL lmao you read your lore properly Matter disintegration weaponry is a relic of doat that is only found on Terra and was incredibly rare even during the age of strife , necrons have it as their most basic weapon and theirs is also far more stable Doat has pretty much nothing that compares to the celestial orrey, the slient king flagship or the world engine Doat had nothing even remotely close to interialess drives Necrons can create sub-dimenisonal reality bubbles which doat was completely incapable of And you can't kill a ctan without irreparably damaging the universe, also you get cursed by the ctan like the necrons did
