5/5 These videos are great, Meredith because they enhance my receptive skills. I get encouraged when I see common signs like NAME and HAPPY because they make me feel like I already know something 😉
@@LearnHowtoSignI’ve been looking for decent resources to learn ASL on and off for over a decade. I once found a site that taught me lots of words, but never how to put them into sentences, much less explaining the logic behind the signs AND quizzing me on it. I can’t thank you enough for your channel and methods!!
5/5 oh my days I can't believe I was able to understand, you have me crying at a Starbucks, its the first time I can actually understand someone signing to me! These lessons have changed my life so much. I love the way you explain the signs and their origin or why they are the way they are. I have autism & ADHD, sometimes I'll go non-verbal and signing helps me get my point across. Thank you again, Ms Meredith!!!!🙏🏽
I’ve been watching all your videos trying to teach myself and my daughter ASL she’s hard of hearing and wears hearing aids so without her hearing aids it’s hard to talk to her without screaming so she can hear me. It breaks my heart but we are learning and making progress through your videos together thank you! I’m also teaching what I learn to my 2 boys so they can talk to her too when she doesn’t have her hearing aids in. She wears her hearing aids during all waking hours but on days her hearing aids didn’t charge over night she he to go a few hours without them in so during the waiting times for her hearing aids to charge we can still communicate once we learn a lot more ASL I am grateful for your videos and so are my kids thank you thank you thank you!!! 🙏
Ms.Meredith i'm not sure how you are able to make it seem as if you are speaking to us like we are there in person but it's awesome! It makes me that much more involved! Thank you for all your hard work.
Could you do a series of "Famous Quotes" signs? I was trying to find how to sign "Star stuff" for 'we are made of Star stuff' and it got me thinking it would be nice to see a bunch of historical/movie/inspirational quotes all in one place.
5/5 and I've only watched your alphabet guides and your first 99 signs video so far! I did have to rewatch the part where you spelled a name because I have some trouble fingerspelling and understanding fingerspelling quickly, but other than that it wasn't very difficult. I dont think it was easy, but I've only been learning today and I'm already this far, so your teaching is great! Keep up the good work!!
i love these videos Meredith. ty so vm for your time teaching. i got all 5 just fine. i love how you tell us what they are and when we got them, feels so good to know how much we learned
Awesome video! I got 5/5. It has been a while since I've practiced my ASL, so it's a bit rusty, but watching these videos has helped a lot. Thanks, Meredith!
My brother signed to me. 2/5 I got the first one right completely. The second one: I got the jist of it, and understood it. I wrote ( I / I’m happy. ) It should’ve been I am Happy. -I could’ve gotten this one as I and happy.- The third one: I wrote ( What your name? ) I got the jist of this one as well, and could’ve responded and did respond in my head. 😂 It should’ve said -What is your name? ) The forth one: I wrote I / I’m name / named Carey. I got the jist of this as well, and could’ve responded and I did, in my head to respond in sign. 😂 It should’ve said -My name is Carey-. The fifth one: I got it. 🙂 Thank you for this quiz, it gave me confidence to keep doing and learning more sign and Asl grammar.
3.5/5 but I just watched the first video 10 mins ago so that’s pretty good! Great videos. Just learning ASL cause I think it looks really cool and would be amazing to have under my belt.
Then there's me who wants to go mute who would want to use asl and hope people understand or get a classmate to be able to interpret for me but I also want to be a translator and/or interpretor
@@CordyBurgett.1 i am going to ask my bf to learn with me but only if he wants to I'm not gonna do it in a pushy way or anything like that just so its easier to learn and a bigger reason to keep at it, I do wish we had asl classes in school in case we get a mute or deaf/hh person so communication is easier for everyone but in the usa you only get French or Spanish as far as I'm aware, some schools might have asl class but mine doesn't it only has French (I live really close to Canada)
@@realityisabellatusmere9722 my school didn’t have a club so my friend and i created one ourselves! we’re not qualified to teach by any means so the entire group is learning together. if you’re serious about the language, maybe you should look into it! it motivates me to learn more and it also exposes the students to the importance of asl even if they don’t know anyone who uses it right now
I got 4/5. The first phrases threw me off. But hey I'm still learning and I did understood everything from the other quizzes. I'm gonna keep practicing!
3/5 I messed up and put Catey and not Carey cause I always mix up the R sign for a T sign. I also forgot what the first sign in number 5 was. I will keep practicing!
I kept being like... Capey? Your name is capey?? 😂😂😂 Also my first time understanding someone signing to me!!! Thank you!! Made me feel so smart on my journey for once haha
The first time I did the quiz I was doing it on the signs meaning and not based on the English sentence structure which cause me to get only one correct but from learning what my mistake was the second time I did it I and got 4/5
I could get them all correct, but I had to decrease the playback speed to 0.5!😅 I'm not sure whether that counts. I'm specially not good at spelling names, anny suggestion here? :)
At first I was looking at the captions during the answers and the captions has the name spelt Carrie but on the actual video its Carey, ngl at first I thought I got the right name just different spelling then looked at the actual video spelling and I actually did get it right, it confused me for a second but I did get 5/5
Question: You begin most of your videos with a specific sign, the same one that is in your logo: thumb, pointer finger, and pinky up, with the other two fingers folded down. What does this sign mean?
@@susanhenley8240 It dose look out of context, idk why she uses it, but to each there own! Lol I have a friend that know asl and sometimes we sign with each other and we use that to say I love you when we are saying good bye. So maybe once you know the person you can determine what it means. Just a thought!
