In honor of International Deaf Awareness week, we are kicking off with seeing the difference between International Sign Language and American Sign Language! Thank you Emory for teaching us some fun IS words!
NOTE: Watch through the end of the video to see what International Sign Language is and how it’s a great tool to learn!
We are so thrilled over 1 million people have access to American Sign Language Version Bible on the Deaf Bible app! Much work still needs to be done so that all Deaf people have access to God’s Word in their unique sign languages, join the movement here! deafbiblesociety.com

Have you been able to find any? I wanna go abroad and meet deaf people in different countries, but don't feel comfortable just going there without knowing anything

Why r there sign languages in different countries? I mean if they are just gestures, we can just make them international. Deaf people don’t have to learn foreign languages, don’t make it hard for them.

On a level i agree with this... BUT its the same with hearing ppl bc we have to learn different languages in some countries and even in countries that speak the same language as the individual (for me thats english) we still have to learn the local jargon/slang/sayings. I feel like a unified central language for the deaf and for hearing would be very useful but is unlikely to happen

Not so surprisingly its for the exact same reason why there are different spoken languages around the world.

@@MrGlies what i mean is that sign language can be made international, alright? speaking languages are different from each other because they are formed from different cultures, but sign language, the culture barrier is thin
