Smitty, You aren't alone! I've been into all Irish music for decades, but sadly only discovered Aslan shortly before Christy's passing. Do yourself a favor and check out Christy and Finbar Furey doing Green Fields of France... The mutual respect from two different genres is priceless!

Smitty i wish i was you hearing these for the first time💚 I watched made in Dublin earlier😉 Send me a msg and i'll give you shit loads of differrent Irish music to check out. Wont post them on this thread out of respect for the man himself💚 Please deliver his voice to those that will benefit from him most. The down trodden🤗
So glad you actually watched the live set from Vicar street! I live just around the corner from the venue, and let me tell you no one will leave a mark on Vicar like Aslan did
Yep, I’ve seen these guys three times. There aren’t many gigs you go to where the crowd knows exactly what it has to do and when, especially with overlapping different harmonies to the lead singer. Most crowds just follow what the singer is doing exactly.
Random rant - heroin came to Dublin early 80s, to a city that had many hash heads and a tiny bunch who used speed to dance, it swept through the inner city flats, and the council estates of mostly, north west Dublin / it wrecked the lives of users, and broke many families - poor Christy got into it, suffered, created, but limited his potential. Rant over.
