Fun fact: In a video game called The Mysteries of Baroque there’s someone known as “The Frozen Man” who was the last remnant of an advanced civilization. Even though they’d developed cryogenic technology they never got it to the point where someone could safely *leave* cryostats for more than a few hours at a time, meaning they’d be unable to do more than get a brief glimpse of the future whenever they were brought out of it. Only one man consented to this, probably out of some sense of curiosity or a simple desire to be famous, and him leaving the pod has become a once-a-century event that people would come from all around the world to see. First he’d spent half his time reading newspapers from the last century and then he’d answer some lucky people’s questions. These could be anything from rumors about his civilization’s technology to things he might’ve seen last century to personal questions about himself. But there’s one dialogue option that outright has him look you in the eye and say “You know… you’re the first person to ask me that question.” Something that I couldn’t help but wonder if De Winter was wise, brave or foolish to ask; “do you regret the choice you made all those years ago?” Even going into it he knew he’d only be living a few hours a century. Seeing the world from within a pod he couldn’t safely leave. Only knowing of its events through newspapers. Only interacting with people who saw him more like an event than an individual… but nobody could truly anticipate what that would be like. So yes, yes he did regret the choice he made those thousands of years ago. Hopefully Listener-San’s foolish hopes for immortality won’t end the same way…

i feel like this audio has the potential for an interesting prequel. two aliens searching the ice for signs of carbon readings, wondering when they are going to stop digging up bones. pondering what lead up to this moment. before they give up, they search for one more spot on the carbon scan and sure enough, they find the last human. and when they're broken out they're even more excited to find them still breathing. unconscious, but still breathing i love the video lapide! 💜

Whilst i did like it, I'd like to point out thea radiocarbon dating can only measure things up to 60k years old. Anything above whould probably have to be done with potassium-argon dating.

This argon0815 seems very talented! This script was great, and your performance didn't seem to fall that behind. This reminded me of the vampire mom, since this alien kinda has the same vibe, and the care vaguely just vaguely reminded me of the legendary elf video. That video man. I hope some other future work of yours overthrows that one.

Would like to think that in such a scenario our descendants live on, be it a questionable blend of genetic/technological alterations or with evolution taken a toll, but still a presence. On the plus side nice knowing there are other level headed sentient races is reassuring, removes the dread of humanity going so too sentient life.

Listening to this made me have an existential crisis about what it means to be human and i had to convince myself that it wasn't real. 10/10, great voice acting. (Yes i actually did have an existential crisis.)

I like this audio it makes me think of other content like alien conversion sort of like a species transformation where a human undergoes a procedure in becoming an alien species and selected for a breeding program.

This could become an actual interesting story movie or tv show or cartoon whatever but it sounds interesting
