Thanks for the helpful comments about my setup. I moved my GPU up to that first PCIE slot, turned on the BIOS XMP thingie for the RAM to hit 2666 (kind weird that you even have to do that), and even routed the cables that power the MB and CPU to the back of the case.
If you end up getting a 3070 or 3080, you won’t be able to use it to it’s full power with that mother board sconce it’s last gen and doesn’t support pcie gen 4. Unless I’m wrong and it does but just something to look out for when upgrading your gpu
Everyone talkin' about how the cone of silence made them think their audio was broken. I just thought the video was going to be silent. ER has trained me to expect these things.
Because of course someone did, I read what Rift was typing in the keyboard section. I did capitalize, add line breaks, omit numbers, tabs, deletes, etc. With a high degree of certainty, this is exactly what he typed, enjoy! Hello I hope you are doing well. This is a new keyboard that I recently acquired. It appears to be decent for various applications. I do not know if you think this will be useful or not but maybe this will have a nice relaxing effect. It seems to be goood. Maybe it will take some time for you to get use to. Okay this what do you think. Is this something you might enjoy? Maybe I do not know if this is something you think you might like. But we have to try at least okay. Well I dont know about you but I think we tested this long enough. I think we tested this long enough. Lets go back to the video.
A bit unrelated but doesn’t this mean the cone of silence is one of the most powerful things in the rift world? It can silence an entire area and dissipate something at will. I don’t know if there’s proof of this but it might silence the entire world from others hearing eachother, because we couldn’t hear ANYTHING from the video, no matter how loud it was. I don’t rlly know the distance of the cone to affect, but it must be extremely powerful if it can silence anything
@Christian Ball thank you Kanye very cool. I mean yeah I didn’t intend for it to be creepy or anything I made it half a year ago. but I mean I can see why you believe my icon and name are a mental depravity
You know what. I applaud him. He isn't too young anymore, but even at his age he's learning about the latest computers. He realized the problems he had and knows how to get past them. He has earned my respect time and time again, and here we are.
Hey Rift, don't feel bad about the comments dissing you for going Intel. There's nothing wrong with them, you should be able to pick whichever CPU brand you want instead of only going for one. This is coming from a Ryzen 9 3900X user. This build will do you justice, can't believe you rendered all your videos with that old PC. Patience of a king.
Yes intel is fine but the i9 9th gen was embarrassed by the 299 dollar 5600x for price for performance until intel lowered their prices, so depending on how much he paid he either got a really good deal or a terrible deal.
I only got this CPU because I found it at 315 EUR ($380), it's way too overkill for my needs, but nice to have. My previous i7-8700 was a perfectly fine CPU. As of now, AMD CPUs are too expensive, so the 10400/11400 are the best budget CPUs atm.
@Mask Not sure if trolling. If not, I have no use for a workstation CPU. I don't even have an use for this Ryzen 9 as I've already stated, I just bought it cuz the price was nice. Pretty sure Ryzen destroys Opteron in IPC for gaming anyway
Also, PC building is pretty cool. If I had the money and the know-how, I would absolutely try to build my own. I honestly love my laptop but towers have SO much space in comparison and they're actually customizable.
I'm honestly glad you're doing this, hopefully more people will get into PC gaming, and especially PC building, I hate it when I see people get ripped off and buy overpriced prebuilts.
I agree, and have built 3 computers at this point (2 were for friends), but people have gotten prebuilt computers that are only about $50 more expensive than building yourself. Also you are paying for warranty and stuff with a prebuilt. I think almost everyone should know how to build a pc so if anything goes wrong you can fix it.
17:00 its so cute how uncle E explains "Type - C" port, reminds me when my Dad explains someone else what a type c port is and then he feels proud because he understood what i explained him before
*just enjoy the ASMR and don't judge the PC* *just enjoy the ASMR and don't judge the PC* *just enjoy the ASMR and don't judge the PC* *just enjoy the ASMR and don't judge the PC* *just enjoy the ASMR and don't judge the PC* *judges the PC* (it's fine)
I know next to nothing about pc building, so I’m super curious what you think he should’ve done! (God it SO hard to not count sarcastic and snarky in comments)
@@Waiter1986 Well the thing that's irking me personally is he went out of his way to buy both the more expensive Z series board and K-sku CPU with no intentions of overclocking. It's a bit of a waste. He did mention later he might OC in the future however so there's that.
My family doesn't even have that much money, but we saved up and bought one prebuilt from Best Buy for about $700 and it is absolute awesome. ($700 is actually pretty cheap for a PC)
@@pseudonym667 Trying to put my kid thru private school so she can have opportunities I didn't. Covid threw a wrench in that. Unsure if we will have tuition in the Fall. Been stressing so much over it. Anything helps. Thank you. $ngnn
this is like a dream come true for me because I've always liked uncle E`s videos and recently I've really gotten in to the whole idea of building pcs and gaming pcs so this is splendid
Just so creative. Small things like the intro with the Cone of Silence. Been a fan since 2017 I think. Thank you rift, you are appreciated 🙏🏾 hope all is well
@@wayveyx It doesnt matter at all, All it does is protect the socket from dust and other foreign debris as well as allow you to actually RMA the motherboard should it break or be defunct
This video is perfectly timed! I've been thinking of upgrading my PC recently, and I'll need to take it apart for the first time. This should be a good insight, and relax me at the same time. Thanks, Rift.
The timing for this vid 👌 I am finishing my build this Sunday! Finally got my hands on a 30 series GPU so yah! Thank you Uncle Rift for including us in your build!
Asmr for pc building The greatest combo.... Not just because it's relaxing but taking your time while building a pc, some people just rush it and wanna get it over with, which in advance destroying the parts, instead find a way to make it relaxing, always helped me when i build my'n
Ah so now the "calm cone" is gunna be a easter egg we're all gunna be going back to hunt for for in previous few video's where we thought there were sound issues.....well played and has they all say, this man never runs of idea's!
@22:24 I used a macbook pro for years, then converted it windows, and now I finally ordered a proper desktop pc. They all have their pros and cons, depending on your personal mental makeup and what you're looking to do.
This is why I wish that tutorials for building a PC were done in asmr style. I dont wanna hear some shit music in the background while someone screams in my ear. I want a nice, relaxing walk-through similar to this video. (for clarification I know this isn't a tutorial, and I didn't use it as such.)
hey rift, not sure if you read comments but you might want to put your graphics card into the top PCIe slot rather than the one it's currently in. Usually the top one has more bandwidth than the bottom one. On this motherboard I think that is the case, you might even be able to see that the top one has more visible pins extending out from the left than the bottom one does once you take out the graphics card. Great job though, all the best.
Darn, it sounds like you guys had a good time. In my watch of this video, he turned the _Cone of Silence_ the wrong way and accidentally set the video to "obnoxiously loud." RIP headphone users.
I was definitely relieved that you bought a new PSU. I’ve had those things fail on me out of the box, and frankly it’s the worst possible thing to have fail, cause if it fails just right it’ll take everything else with it lol Very nice build tho, enjoyed the video :)
I’ll always remember this guys killer Line I died laughing. It was the nothing store and he goes “Does someone you love deserve nothing for Christmas? I got the perfect thing, it’s nothing for them”
That cone is probably the strongest ASMR-related Artifact I have ever seen. -Tissue of the Elder Gods? -Hands of the Elder Gods? -Lamp Shade of the Elder Gods? -Wooden Blocks of the Elder Gods? *The Cone of the Elder Gods holds reality and time under it's control*
ive been building pcs from age of 10, not so much last 8 years...only once (my current build)....this was so relaxing and awesome, much needed on end of the work week
I just realized that uncle E is probably the only person that could make me install raid shadow legend if he do sponsor about it for being in my daily life for so long keep on the good work 👍
I was honestly expecting uncle ER to make the whole video just to set the computer on fire on the test run. I don't know what to expect from this man after the cone of silence
