I used to love going to Claire's but I haven't set foot there since a particular bad memory. TRIGGER WARNING: Vomit, Child Leukaemia. Please do not read if these things upset you. So I was going to buy some things from there one day and obviously since it's more for children there were loads of kids there. I had seen a young girl about 8 or 9 in a wheelchair, hospital gown, no hair and was throwing up and crying. Assumed right away she had been through chemo. I think due to my anxiety and emetophobia I avoided going in. After that day I had a big reality check that yes, I suffer from mental health issues but nothing compared to what that little girl was going through. I got home that day and just cried because it was so heartbreaking. We often hear of cancer and children being sick but we don't register these things until we actually see it. It hit so hard I never ever went back to Claire's. I always walk past Claire's and pray the girl's cancer went away and she got better.
