@@persiepersefone5162 Not the person you asked, but as a former employee, I can say it's a high stress environment. there's a lot of stress to make big sales, get everyone pierced and generally always handle everything well. Additionally, stores are often understaffed and shifts are long. Working with kids all day is also difficult, especially when oftentimes they will unload displays without their parents making much effort to stop them. Additionally, the sensory feedback is intense: broken perfume bottles, makeup, disinfectant from ear piercings, the bright lights, the color everywhere, and the music is both loud and they play the same 20 or so songs over and over for months. Honestly, its both pain and pleasure working there.

@@Zenaidafromthemoon SO REAL... it was never an addiction for me, but i used to steal from sephora and ulta frequently for myself and friends (and my mom's christmas and bday gifts LMAO, she was so confused about how i afforded all of it) who couldn't afford boujee makeup. there was never a request i denied and i was always treated to great food for my endeavors, it was all so rewarding and the stories were so fun to tell, they reacted like i was doing a high level operation like ocean's 11 lmaoo. candy was also a big one, i'm too weak for chocolate, what can i say. i hate to potentially trigger, but god this brought up MEMORIES for me, i never really hear people talk about it openly so it's nice to relate to someone else. you def know how intense and vivid every moment of it is... my biggest steal was a natasha denona palette and some expensive ass perfume that was at least $200 USD, absolutely joyous day. it was black friday and a girl who also looked kinda sketchy and was also wearing baggy clothes caught me slip the pallete in my waistband, the lovely lady gave me a thumbs up and said "nice one." women supporting women, love to see it. very glad i stopped tho, the risk ain't worth it and now i lost interest in owning lots of makeup so i lost my drive. of course the more expensive the more exciting for me, but there's something so incredibly tempting about claires that could potentially drive anyone insane, especially someone like you who struggles with sticky finger syndrome lol. crazy how we felt the same way about a store for children it's hilarious to me. hope ur sober tho, recovery is tough but so worth it :)
