I really love how you said "surround yourself with ppl who have your best interest at heart" and not ppl who make you happy, because sometimes somethings don't make us happy or we don't like it but it's better for us then some other things which we think are good for us but infact they're not. So basically your mom forbidding you from too much chocolate when a kid, she cares for you but you thinking cuz she's taking away your happiness she's a bad person. So it's wrong to just surround yourself with ppl who agree with whatever you want or do just to be "happy" temporarily, instead you should surround with ppl who would be rough on you sometimes but out of love and care and won't hesitate to point out if you're doing something wrong and correct you and help you get better
