@@nataliealice05 I hope James doesn't mind my answering your question on his behalf. 🤞 I know you were addressing him, and not me, but I see your question has remained unanswered for a month, now, and I know the answer; so, I will tell it to you, so you're not left wondering, okay? He is not an actual ophthalmologist or any other kind of doctor. You're right that his videos in which he portrays doctors of any kind always look highly realistic and professional. 👍 He is an expert at his craft, in my opinion. 👏 He is a fine actor, and he puts a ton of attention to detail into creating his videos for us, his audience, to enjoy. If you go to James's channel, you will find two Q & A videos he made, and I believe, it was in the longer one, the one in which he's wearing glasses 👓, where he answered someone else's question of whether or not he was a real doctor. He said he's definitely not. But he plays one in a lot of his videos. I would probably be nervous, if he were a doctor and I were his patient, and he were examining me, because I find him INCREDIBLY attractive! But I can watch him examine other people, in these videos, and not be nervous, at all. 🙂

Linda is actually extremely articulate, English is not her first language and we’d been recording videos back to back all day. I try and speak slowly and I just pause instead of saying like, but I only speak one language so go easy on her haha x

haha it seems to happen pretty often when people learn English as a second language, I'm sure she's trying to work on it I can't defend those native English speaks who say "like" all the time though, I'm just like..literally..totally over it or some junk, haha

Maybe provide some tips to someone who took the time to learn a second language

@@Locals-only- I think basically pausing, and speaking slowly is my best advice. I think when you’re trying to answer a question and explain yourself, your brain is probably thinking faster than you can say it in a second language, so just pausing, even mid sentence, is a good way of avoiding “erm, like, y’know, um” etc I’m not saying I never say those, but I say them a lot less from speaking slower. It adds a gravitas to what you’re saying too. Not that Linda needs my advice, but seen as you asked more generally that’s my approach x

@@JamesMatthewASMR This is a bit off topic but I remember long ago on Joe Rogan's podcast he had an intelligent guest on who spoke fairly slowly and NEVER said "um" or "like" etc and it was so oddly impressive that Joe even told him. I still remember that for some reason and that was probably back in 2010. It's very rare. But less is more, Elon Musk speaks pretty slowly, which helps him choose his words more carefully. Some people say "like" too often, some people say "or something" at the end of each sentence. Haha, sadly these are words that make people take our words less serious. It's a crutch in our vocabulary, I guess, like curse words. We all struggle with it at some point. I'm American and so I'm of course trying to stop using the words "that sucks" and "awesome" at the moment. I'm too old to be using those words now. Haha.
