As someone who's been playing since 2011, I adore seeing new players get excited about their new cards and deck synergies! Lathrill is VERY strong. Teaching the game is likely my favorite part of it these days.
love to see people getting into the game! if youre looking for a reason to go to your local store the prerelease for the new set is this weekend, usually stores will run events that are very low stakes/friendly
@@danielkamvakis102 unfortunately there aren’t many near me but I do have a friend who lives a couple towns over willing to introduce me to his local shop so I’m hoping to check it out there! :)
Each colour pair has a clan name, and Golgari is the clan name for black and green so you can use that as shorthand to describe your favourite colours to play 😊
@@mehbodo ooo I didn’t know that! Thank you!! 🙏🙏 Golgari is defo my fav then but I’m looking into a dark and light build bc of the baldur gate astarion card I just got. What’s the name of that clan?
I hope you have fun with the game. As someone who also likes yapping about magic, I've taught many new players and I'd recommend playing plenty of standard until you feel comfortable with the game. I agree commander is the most enjoyable format to play among friends but with multiple opponents, larger decks, and vast variety of cards it also leads to lots of complex interactions that can be overwhelming at first. I used to be a red gamer from the time my mom built me a goblins deck for standard, to when I played in tournaments with a burn deck. These days I stick to commander and mostly play green decks. my favorite deck is Titania protector of Argoth land combo
@@brianmcgoldrick9529 ooo I only started really playing recently and I’m still not well versed in cards and such. I’ve been watching some of the Professor and Moist Critical and have learned about a few cards from that. Also from playing the online game but yeah not too knowledgeable but hoping to get there!! Online I play full standard since idk how to do commander LOL
@@ASMRNoveau yeah! You can also try to set up spelltable to play with you paper cards online from home to test your decks before bringing them to your local game store, some people find it fun!
