All the garlic and all the onions and mushrooms yum. My favorite dish is mushrooms, onions sautéed then add kale with olive oil or coconut oil ( a whole bag of kale), lemon, tons of garlic, and two tubs of fresh parmesean and then add noodles of your choice. I got a friend’s kid to even eat this dish and loved it when he said he didn’t like kale. He loved it!

27:35 My favorite use of black beans is with jasmine rice, andouille sausage, lots of cajun spices (equal parts of cumin, chili powder, black pepper, then a little cayenne pepper, and salt to taste). Topped with a lot of light olive oil. The rice and beans combine to form a complete protein. I also prepare the rice by washing it thoroughly to remove as much starch as possible, and microwave it. To make it even more starch resistant, you can cook it ahead of time and cool it in the refrigerator, then reheat later. But this is only really necessary for diabetics who want to avoid insulin spikes.

I was hunting high and low for sesame oil around here (Northern California) over the past couple of weeks and finally ordered some from Amazon. Since I've moved here from Georgia the stuff that I can't find in stores is sometimes baffling.-- no sesame oil that I could find, and very few Chinese restaurants around here have lo mein noodles! if you don’t like kale, try massaging well it with a little olive oil and salt before you cook it or put it in your salad. it makes it way less chewy.

Fun fact: C&S Wholesale Grocers, a distributor, bought 413 Kroger’s/Albertson’s stores. There’s some drama going on with potential monopolization that is sort of holding it up though. But the purchase was effective last year. Just waiting to see what C&S is going to do with the stores. C&S is likely to keep them as is and just provide and distribute product to the stores by my guess.
