When i record for my long, 5-9hr videos, what I do is split the full recording into lots of different, individual scenes. What I end up with is about 25 scenes in their own little folders and I just start to edit then together for those nice, long videos. I tend to choose the best ones and edit them first, but I often leave out the scenes that are really difficult to edit as it takes so much time. Eventually the video is long enough to upload (5hrs+) and I'm always left with a few scenes that are really hard to edit, but also kinda good. I have quite a lot of these scenes in different folders and I was wondering what I should do with them. Here are my two options:
- Option 1: Release them in a new series one by one "ASMR Leftover #1 etc"
- Option 2: Piece them all togther into a long, 9hr video "ASMR Leftovers"
They say that the most difficult things in life will reap you the best rewards. So, what do you all think? Was this video worth the effort to edit? Should I go for option 1 or option 2?
If you're wondering why one scene is more difficult to edit than another, then let me try to explain. Some triggers create these really high and really low volume sounds. Take this video for example, the tinsel rubbing on the mic causes a mix of really subtle popping sounds but there's also a sort of crunchy, scratchy sound range in there which overpowers. When you're dragging things like this on the mic you get some excessively high sounds that need to be edited out by cipping and adjusting each one. It takes ages but I prefer not to use software to process/normalise my audio. I prefer to edit manually to retain those tingly high and low frequency ranges. Instead of pressing a button that edits hours and hours of audio in a few seconds, I prefer to take a few days to edit each video manually.

Or, you can just write something to say hello ❤️
