ASMR Let's Play - Myst Part 5: The Mechanical Age 

Hey.. it's been a while! Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me to continue making content. The continuation of the Myst playthrough is by far the most requested material. I apologize for any sudden, jerky camera movements in this video. I have to get back in the habit of slow, methodical navigation as I move through this game...

Thank you so much for choosing to continue this series with another chapter - to this day I still find your readings of Atrus' library journals in the previous entries to be among the most ASMR-inducing segments on RU-vid. EDIT: Factoid after watching a few minutes in - that painting of Sirrus is based on that of Napoleon Bonaparte seated on his imperial throne, and the painting of the unknown woman (in Myst anyway) is "Portrait of Madame Moitessier" both painted by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres.

Much respect, and "big ups," to Misha Shivers for continuing this series after a three-and-a-half year pause! I'm pretty sure this is the longest interruption in a Let's Play series I have ever seen - and that's saying something because believe me, I've seen some crazy-long ones from my friend, Stereo3DProductions! I gave my personal history with this series, and with Myst more generally, on the Cyan Worlds live stream replay, so I won't repeat it. But I will restate my great appreciation for the previous four episodes in the series. Thanks to Misha Shivers for taking this unique time in world history as an opportunity to make some more vids!

In my playthrough of realMyst two years ago, I thought that the Mechanical Age was by far the weakest of the game's "main" ages. The setting is dull and it only has _two_ puzzles! (I count the elevator rotation as fiddly busywork, not a puzzle.) But the remaining two ages Misha Shivers needs to explore are much more interesting. 36:29 The fortress rotation so-called puzzle is so incredibly simple that, as Misha Shivers demonstrates here, it's easily solvable without using the sounds. But another puzzle in one of Misha's remaining ages is so complex that it's virtually impossible to solve without using the audio cues. Don't get stuck on it like I did! 🔉👂
