The natural foliage, reminds me of Christmas with my father, we lived in the countryside, I still can remember the smell of the foliage in the morning, so happy u used it xx ❤

Glad you added a few festive touches to the table setting. The first edition looked stylish but not especially Christmassy. Here's tip that I do. I have plenty of evergreens in my garden, that I can bring inside to decorate for Christmas. However, there are few red berries. So I pick up sprays of berries at the dollar store and weave them amongst the greenery. With so much natural greens, the red berries look authentic also.

Being someone who has fought stage 2 triple negative breast cancer this past year and a half your videos has helped me more than you know, especially those days I was so weak and sick from chemotherapy and stuck in the house due to being afraid of exposure to Covid when dealing with a severely weakened immune system,..it was your videos who helps me pass that time and soothed me. Now being in remission for a year now I’m back to dealing with worse anxiety than ever. Having a fear that breast cancer will come back I turn to your videos to help ease my restless mind day and night when I need them most. Nicholas, I believe what your lovely table needs is some balance in the background, think of a theatre play or a ballet the stage has layers of decor and lighting from the back leading up to center stage where the performers are. So how about giving your imagination free reign regarding your background such as your side board and the spaces on either side of it? I should also think about “height” and add something whimsical or traditional to your mirror, perhaps some dried foliage or a garland with pinecones and mistletoe to remain in your masculine theme colours and of course more candles, happy decorating. Happy holidays from Switzerland

A book you may like is RSVP by Nan Kempner. It is very entertaining though it does annoy me in one sense. Nan describes the socialites as 'people who know how' to throw parties, overlooking the reality that Nan's friends all have troups of waiters, footmen, chefs, dressmakers and other support staff galore! It is much harder for us, with zero servants to assist us! But it is a fun book and I recommend it to you! (Out of print, I believe, but you can track it second hand.) Thank you for the video!

Yes, I started embracing the gray sky and the bare gray trees a few years ago. When I finally have a well insulated house with central heat, and a nicer barn, I'll no longer dread January and February so much. 😊❤️
