If interested in the American Revolutionary War, look deeper into the Battle of Bennington (part of the Saratoga Campaign). Specifically look into General John Stark who led the Americans at Bennington. His story is pretty epic. Note: Americans got Eastern watershed of the Mississippi River in Treaty of Paris (1783). America acquired the Western watershed of the Mississippi in the Louisiana Purchase (1803).
Well, I'm a proud American so don't feel you have to tippy toe around for my country's history on independence day week. As all your lovely videos prove is that every nation seems to have had a sordid past at least in the beginning. The big picture is that it's not uniquely American.
