@@tonymeck-lj8rvmonkeys are one of, if not the most, smartest non human animals on the planet. Yes they can be dangerous, but usually only if you give them a reason to be. Raise them with love and they will love you back in their adult years
Imagine going for a facial, and the aesthetician gets so frustrated about a patch of dry skin that she abruptly wigs out and starts jumping off the walls
This is where a lot of humans get our instinctual fascination with grooming (popping pimples, plucking ingrown hairs, removing splinters, ticks, etc.) It's because it comes naturally from our roots as apes and early humans.
I am amazed that they understand that the patch of skin is unusual and might be annoying to you, trying and helping you with it. So much personallity, awareness and so carefull with it. They seem to know that removing it carelessly can rip too deep and hurt, since they knew how and when to play a bit rougher with you, using gentle bites and all.
Monkeys have always fascinated me. From the often pure savagery of the Mandril to the gentle nature of the Muriqui. Was lucky enough 9yrs ago to go to Brazil and see Muriqui's up close. The reserve they live in is amazing and they are SOOO friendly. One of them gripped my partner in what I can only describe as a headlock lol The ranger guy said they always do that when they like you, they are big huggers. I didnt get a hug, must have done something wrong lmao.
OK, we figured the origins of ASMR? This is my third time hearing various primates making this mouth smacking sound when they groom. To me, this sound is weirdly pleasant. Tingles and all. Can it be that we have an evolutionary trace of enjoying these types of sounds, as a pleasant pacifier when getting groomed? I would even venture that the tingles suppress pain receptors and calm nerves, so any pain induced while grooming does not cause a strong reaction. I am truly a primate and I am not ashamed to admit I like it :)
Truee. Also its hard looking at a monkey or an ape and not think to yourself "Thats a fcking human". And im sure they too think we are something like them
@@JuanAntonioGarciaHerediaI also think they see us as one of them, just bald and tall, because this monkey is grooming the person as if it were a natural thing. They wouldn't groom animals they consider threatening or worth chasing.
When you're ASMR addiction takes you down the back alley of RU-vid to see the guy that opens his trenchcoat and says, "What're ya looking fer, I got cat, dog....." "You got any monkey?" "You're in luck, and no judgement"
This ASMR is confusing my head. I'm anguished cause it looks like he's trying to rip off your fingernail, but on the other side he's so tiny and adorable.
This is exactly how I feel! I have to keep pausing because the skin ripping freaks me out, but at the same time I'm so fascinated I have to go back and continue again.
Always found it relaxing to watch monkeys grooming humans, what really annoys me are the too short videos where the person filming keeps talking like stfu! Here's a video over an hour long no talking love it!
Fittingly the ASMR response likely evolved as a way to reward and encourage social bonding with grooming just like this, when people were still furry and monkey-like.
Thabo is such a good boy - so cute! - zoomies are hilarious! - really relaxing to watch if I don't think about the "squirm factor" too much - thanks for a really great video!!
He is a gorgeous monkey. Love his black face & ears & his feet & hands & his multiple colored fur. Beautiful! ❤❤ Is he/she a Long Tailed Maqaque or another breed?
Usually oddly satisfying in the ASMR community means some really really weird stuff like borderline nsfw content but this is genuinely oddly satisfying. Just odd, nothing more than odd. Perfectly strange
Ive always wanted something like this but i also know my limits and understand that training a monkey is absolutely out of my ability range and would secretly scared of it losing its patience and ripping me to shreds
Thabu the Monkey is something precious to keep and too precious to lose. Better to have than any christmas presents any one could ask for. Special gift from God. Feliz Navidad 🥂
I’m going to fall asleep tonight and end up dreaming about monkeys eating my fingers. This was both adorable and freaky at the same time. Yet I was getting very relaxed up until the part the little guy was literally bouncing off the walls. And now I know where that expression comes from.
i love videos like this! i love when my pet rats also groom and nibble off bits of my skin or hangnails, and when they nibble and trim my nails. they also love to lick and clean off any dirt or substance that is on my skin. love how we take care of each other across species ❤
Surprised no one else has said it yet, so I will and I won't lie, this was oddly satisfying, I flat out couldn't turn this video off and my daughter is the ASMR fan in the house
man its crazy certain animals can feel about us bro if you gain enough trust with them there like" yo you cool welcome to the pack your one of us now" its fascinating and insane.
I watch your videos when I sleep. But the part 1:05:46 wakes you up because your voice is so loud. Can you delete that part and edit it into a quiet video?
@@ragingraichu219 The cuticle is basically dead skin, yes. But once you lift up the proximal nail foil from the nail, like he does, it usually starts hurting like hell until it’s healed shut again.
Hi send me you’re bank card information ss# and home address and state id and you’re car’s license plate number i will get ahold of you for a new monkey what we thinking? King kong? Or just something small like obama
What are you talking about? We still do these things for each other, it's just that we now pay each other for the expertise, the time spent and the exposure to pathogens/diseases/other risks that come from intimately dealing with each other's bodies... We also don't eat the parasites, dead skin, shed hairs, fungi, cysts, etc. that we remove from each other's bodies. I can tell you thought you were making some kind of deep, philosophical statement with your comment but in the end you sound rather ignorant.
ppl are saying "oh no he is eating his skin" in his mind, there is still a coat of fur like in normal monkeys, so he is essentially peeling the imaginary fur
Thabo cracks me up… he is as fixated on your cuticles/nails/fingers as my friend Aya's Chimpanzee, Bow is concerned with her nostrils when he grooms her… 😅I love watching these guys…😊
That poor boy. You can see the scars on the sides of his face and the top of his head. What kind of tests did they put him through at that laboratory. It's amazing he survived and is not aggressive and dangerous toward his caretaker and trusts him. Glad he's living in a safe environment and loved by his human.
@@PolarBearWithHat they seemed like birth marks to me too. This monkey didn't come from lab testing I'm like 98% sure Ray has said he lost his mother and comes from the rescue he worked for.
